🎓🐾 FROM SHELTER DOG TO SERVICE DOG GRADUATE! 🇺🇸❤️

We have some incredibly exciting news to share! One of our very own shelter dogs is officially graduating from K9s For Warriors!

Meet Aardy, formerly known as Shakey!

In February 2026, Shakey left the Humane Society of Camden County to begin an incredible new chapter with K9s For Warriors. Now, just months later, he's preparing to graduate alongside his new Veteran!

From a shelter dog waiting for his next chapter to a trained service dog ready to make a life-changing difference, Aardy's journey is a beautiful reminder of just how much potential shelter dogs have when given the opportunity. ❤️

And now, we get to celebrate his success!

🎓 AARDY'S GRADUATION

We are so proud of Aardy and grateful to K9s For Warriors for recognizing the incredible potential in shelter dogs and giving them the opportunity to serve those who have served our country.

Aardy may have started his journey as a shelter dog, but his story was always meant to be so much bigger. 🐾❤️🇺🇸

Please join us in congratulating Aardy and his Veteran on this amazing accomplishment!

📢 TEMPORARY CLOSURE NOTICE

The Humane Society of Camden County will be closed to the public today due to an unforeseen staffing issue. We anticipate reopening tomorrow during our regular business hours.

While our doors may be closed, please rest assured that our animals are still our top priority. 🐾 Our team is here ensuring every animal is cleaned, fed, medicated when needed, and given the same love and care they receive every day.

We appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued support as our small but dedicated team works hard to care for the animals who depend on us.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back tomorrow! ❤️🐶🐱

Thank you for supporting the Humane Society of Camden County and the animals in our care.

🐾 HAPPY TAILS STORIES: Roxie, Ella Mae, Fitz & Sandy! 🐾

We have FOUR happy endings to celebrate this week, and one of them has been a long time coming. ❤️

🏡 Roxie came to us from Camden County Animal Control and thankfully didn’t have to wait long for her next chapter. After just 20 days with us, Roxie found her forever home!

🏡 Ella Mae came to HSCC as a transfer from another shelter. She spent 81 days waiting for someone to choose her, and this week, that wait finally came to an end. Ella Mae has officially been ADOPTED! ❤️

🏡 Fitz also came to HSCC as a transfer from another shelter when he was just 4 months old. He spent the next four months growing up with us while waiting for a family of his own. At 8 months old, Fitz finally got to trade shelter life for HOME! 🥹

That means this sweet boy spent half of his young life waiting for his forever family. Now, he gets to do the rest of his growing up exactly where he belongs. ❤️

And we saved the sweetest Happy Tail for last…

🏡 Sandy came to us as an owner surrender following a divorce and move. For seven long months, Sandy waited.

Day after day, week after week, she watched other dogs leave with their new families while we continued hoping that somewhere out there was a home meant specifically for her.

Turns out, there was. ❤️

After seven months at HSCC, Sandy has finally found her perfect forever home, and she even gained a new best friend in the process!

Her new sibling, Issy, is an HSCC alum too, and judging by their photo, these two have already decided they belong together. 🥹🐾 Seeing Sandy settled into a home, side by side with another dog who once waited here for their own happy ending, makes this adoption especially sweet.

From 20 days, to 81 days, to four months, to seven months, every one of these dogs had a different journey.

But they were all waiting for the same thing:

Someone to choose them.

Congratulations Roxie, Ella Mae, Fitz, and Sandy! We hope your lives are filled with comfy beds, ridiculous amounts of treats, adventures, belly rubs, and all the love you deserve.

Happy tails, sweet pups. You’re home. ❤️🐾

🐾 Sometimes the best opportunities show up completely unexpectedly.

We had a surprise visit from K9s For Warriors, who stopped by to see if any of the dogs currently in our care might have what it takes to become part of their program.

After meeting several dogs and putting potential candidates through behavioral evaluations, two of our boys stood out: Neo and Homer! 💙

Both were officially selected as candidates for the K9s For Warriors program!

For a shelter dog, this is an incredible opportunity. K9s For Warriors rescues dogs and trains them to become Service Dogs for veterans living with invisible wounds of war. The dogs chosen for their program have the potential to go from waiting in a shelter to having a life-changing purpose alongside the veteran who needs them.

We are incredibly proud of Neo and Homer for showing everyone what we already knew: shelter dogs are capable of some pretty amazing things.

They came into our care waiting for someone to give them a chance.

Now, that chance could lead them somewhere bigger than we ever imagined. 🐾🇺🇸

Congratulations, Neo and Homer! We cannot wait to see where this next chapter takes you. 💙

🚨 DOG FOOD IS 70% OFF! 🚨

PetSense is closing its doors this week, and their dog food is currently 70% OFF!

We would love to turn this unfortunate closing into an opportunity to stock our shelter pantry. 🐾

If you’re stopping by PetSense to take advantage of the sale, please consider purchasing a bag (or two!) of dog food to donate to the shelter. With so many dogs in our care, we go through food quickly, and every single bag donated means fewer supplies we have to purchase and more resources we can put directly toward caring for our animals.

At 70% off, even a small donation can make a BIG difference. ❤️

🐶 Buy a bag
🛒 Take advantage of the 70% off sale
🐾 Donate it to the shelter
❤️ Help us stock up while we have the opportunity!

Whether it’s one small bag or a cart full, every donation helps keep shelter bellies full.

Please share this post and help us spread the word before the sale ends!

SHOP • DONATE • MAKE A DIFFERENCE 🐾

Thank you, as always, for supporting our shelter animals. ❤️
