Have you thought about fostering for KCHS? Now wb a great time to try. Our shelter is maxed out but there are 6 dogs, 6 months to 1 yr old, in desperate need of placement. Their owner has a court order to " get rid of all of his dogs" by Oct 21 or go to jail! One of our fosters has already taken in 4 dogs from this home and we found permanent homes in just a couple of weeks. They are all small dogs. Less than 20 lbs. Chihuahua terrier mixes. They seem to do well with people, dogs and cats. KCHS will provide all vetting and can supply food and bedding as well. If you are willing to help one or more of these little guys, pls let us know asap. These sweet babies have less than 10 days left!

HERE WE GO AGAIN! We don't know this little guy's story but it's probably like so many others we have seen lately. This is what happens when you dump your dog in the country and think they will find a farm and live happily ever after. Fat chance! We know Life Happens. Sometimes you hit a rough patch and just can't afford to keep your pet any longer. Or maybe your new landlord won't allow pets. But don't wait until the last minute to figure out what to do with your dog. It's not their fault and they deserve much better. Give yourself (and us) some time and maybe we can figure out a better option. This little boy is one of the lucky ones. A good Samaritan found him on the side of the road, just skin and bones. After a few days of good food and TLC, he's starting to bounce back and is just the friendliest little guy. We've named him "Spooky" and he is looking for a new PERMANENT home. Even after he fills out, he will be less than 20 lbs. He gives great kisses and is so playful - just a bundle of fun. Somebody will be so lucky to adopt him and he can't wait to meet you. Your donations for Spooky's care are so appreciated. But if you can't donate, share this post and help Spooky find a new home!
