Animal hospital in King George, VA dedicated to providing the highest level of care for your pets. Since March 2020 we have transitioned to curbside service.

When you arrive for your appointment, please call us from the parking lot at 540-775-6800. A technician will meet you at your vehicle and bring your pet into the hospital.

Please join us in welcoming our newest Associate Veterinarian, Dr. Mercer Butts! 🩺🐾

Dr. Butts was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences from North Carolina A&T State University (Aggie Pride!) before completing his master’s degree in Animal Nutrition and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Colorado State University. He also received additional veterinary training in nutrition at the University of Nicosia in Cyprus and in cancer care at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh, Scotland. His primary medical interests include nutrition and cancer care.

In his free time, Dr. Butts enjoys cheering on his favorite sports teams, trying new barbecue restaurants, and hiking with his dog, Duke. He is also an Eagle Scout and avid outdoorsman.

☀️ Excessive Heat Pet Safety Reminder

With the excessive heat expected this week, please take extra precautions to keep pets safe.

Pets can overheat quickly, especially during midday walks, outdoor activity, or time spent in parked cars. Make sure your pet has plenty of fresh water, shade, airflow, and indoor time whenever possible.

A good rule of thumb: if it feels too hot for you, it is probably too hot for your pet, too.

Watch for signs of overheating, including excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, diarrhea, confusion, collapse, or seizures. Heatstroke is a medical emergency, so please seek veterinary care right away if you are concerned.

Stay cool and keep those paws safe! 🐾

Our canine lobby is temporarily closed. We will be offering curbside service for canine appointments today (June 29).

The feline lobby remains open for feline appointments as normal.

New at Eagle's Nest! We are Upgrading Our System!

Our hospital is transitioning to a new practice management software to better serve our clients and patients.
