Every year, every season, every single re-release is so beautifully bitter sweet. It's such a mixture of joy and worry.

We celebrate the lives that were saved, healed and sent back home to the wild - where they want to be. We take pride in a job well done and we treasure all the memories we had with each critter. But we also feel a huge pang of fear - will they stay safe?!? Will they stay away from other humans that may harm them? Will they wander into a road? Will they fall victim to poison or cruel traps? Will a predator get them? Will they get sick? Once they leave our care we can no longer shield them from the world, and honestly - it keeps us awake some nights.

So please... please be kind to all wildlife! Please do not use glue traps, hand traps, poisons or violence of any kind. Please slow down at night, especially in rural areas. If a critter becomes a nuisance to your home, please ask us or another rehabber about how you can humanely get them to leave. Please do not call a pest removal company - most of them actually kill the animals they trap.

To the world they can be considered pests - but to us... those are our babies that we poured our blood, sweat, tears and all of our love into.

Be kind. Please.

🎉 HAPPY ENDING - REUNITED WITH OWNER!!! 🎉

This darling female Persian was lost & roaming around a Marysville neighborhood. She was found by a caring family, who provided her with food and water. They could tell she needed medical help - so that's where we took over. She was treated by the amazing staff at our favorite office (Black River Veterinary Clinic) and is already on the mend!

Luckily, she was microchipped! It took a little bit of detective work but we were finally able to connect with her owner! We are so happy that we were able to reunite "Graycie" with her loving owner!!

We love you, Graycie! We are so happy for you! Stay healthy and no more sneaking out!

‼️ This is such a great example of why it's so important to get your pets microchipped! We don't think we would have ever found her owner without it!
