Negative thoughts lead to negative feelings towards your dog. Dogs can sense that and mirror the negativity. This can lead to a lack of and/or regression of progress in their training.

I learned this with my dog, Link. The constant thoughts that he would be happier somewhere else is exactly why he was struggling. I wasn’t giving him my full effort and instead would give up on him - easily. Say “oh well, that’s just Link” instead of allowing him to rise to his full potential (even though it wasn’t what I had in mind for him). He’s an awesome dog and I struggled to see that because he wasn’t the dog I wanted.
But turns out, he was exactly the dog I needed ❤️

Side note: Their certainly are GOOD reasons to rehome a dog, this post is NOT for those who are responsible enough to know they aren’t able to give their dog what they truly need.

Meet Beau 🐾

Beau is a 10-month-old Lab / Pit Bull / Cattle Dog mix looking for his perfect forever home. Beau’s owners have made the incredibly difficult decision to rehome him for his best interest.

✨ About Beau:
• 10 months old
• Fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on care
• Medium/high energy
• Loves affection, cuddles, playtime, and being with his people

Beau is currently completing extensive professional training and will be ready for adoption beginning June 5th. As his trainer, I will be personally involved in screening potential adopters to ensure the best possible fit and long-term success.

Beau is a loving, affectionate dog who thrives with structure, leadership, and clear boundaries. He has lived with 4 French Bulldogs his entire life and generally does well with other dogs. However, he has shown some resource guarding behaviors surrounding physical affection from his humans, which led to conflicts in his previous home.

His trainer has found that Beau does very well when given clear rules, consistency, and a home environment where he doesn’t have to compete for attention. He may do best as an only dog or in a home with one well-matched dog and experienced owners who can continue reinforcing his training.

He isn’t an over-the-top high-energy dog, but he does enjoy regular walks, hikes, playtime, and a good run in the yard.

Because his owners and I want the absolute best future for Beau, adopters will complete a detailed go-home session with his trainer to learn his training, routines, and everything needed to set him up for success.

Beau has made incredible progress in training and is growing into a confident, well-mannered young dog. Now he just needs the right person to give him the forever home he deserves ❤️

STRUCTURED WALKS don’t mean your dog never gets to sniff, explore, and enjoy their environment—they absolutely should. The difference is that it happens on your terms, not theirs.

Sniffing and exploring new scents and environments is an important part of a dog’s daily enrichment and mental fulfillment. But dogs also thrive when they have clear leadership, structure, and guidance.
