Aww! Remember Nick aka Toby?! He's on to great adventures with his family in New York! 🥳
We cannot be happier for this sweet guy. He's had the best village of dog lovers helping him with everything from training to doggie daycare. His family adores him and we love getting updates!
Safe travels buddy! We're so excited for you and your family to start a new chapter together up north. Happy tails! 🐾❤️🐾
Let me tell you a story that should warm your heart as we say good by to one of our best friends today.
Two years ago, not long after we started partnering with Happy Tails Ranch Rescue we were asked to board our friend Toby. Now Toby is a peculiar little man with a story only he knows, but we suspect wasn’t always kind. Toby was adopted quickly from HTRR months and months before he came to us, then suddenly out of the blue his family wanted to send him back to the ranch. No real reason, but Toby came back afraid of leashes, men, noises, and a gut that gurgled if you looked at him sideways. We thought Toby was going to be around for a while and settled in letting him decompress.
As luck would have it, Toby’s happily ever after found him quickly. He wasn’t their first choice, but Toby does what Toby wants, and he just makes an impression on you. One where you constantly ask yourself (and him) “What the heck man?” And so began Toby’s journey of recovery in the most understanding, crazy beautiful, kind, supportive family. Toby went through confidence building with Copilot Academy, LLC, hung out with our friends at Posh Pups Texas, and even developed a long term relationship with our favorite vets at Town & Country Veterinary Medical Center. He had a dream team behind him.
And it showed.
Slowly this little man developed his personality, gained confidence, and learned to trust. So much so that it was as if he was telling me it would all be ok when he left, and he rolled on his back in my lap to give me all of his belly for love. That’s huge!
We watched Toby grow, his family truly connect, and helped facilitate friendships for him that you could see made his whole world light up. But…there’s always a but…today was the day I denied for so long. Our sweet Toby and his grown self, left us for bigger adventures in a cooler climate, with cousins, mema (we are incredibly jealous!), and all the new and exciting things. Like snow!
Toby is going to be just fine. We are so excited for him. We…might not be…not for a little while. Toby’s whole family deeply affected us to our core and for that, we can never say enough thank you’s. Mom, littles, mema, gramps, and the entire Toe Beans family, as we sit with a knot in our stomach since 0700, holding back tears, a million thank you’s for your trust, support, love, and patience. Please don’t be strangers. We already miss you. Give our friend some extra squeezes for us every single day until forever. We are better for having you all in our lives.
Toby hit the jackpot. We love you guys. Thank you for allowing all of us the opportunity to be a part of his healing and growth. He’s ready now. He can do this.
