Good morning!

The messages for help have already started and it’s not even 9 am.

I wanted to share some pups that we have not been able to find solutions for, for a number of reasons, that really need good homes.

While our organization doesn’t directly do adoptions, because I personally do not have the time to do it properly and our team is small, we do give people who have picked up puppies guidance and tools to adopt out their own pups.

When our pups missed transport late June due to New York closing its borders to Texas dogs, 20 puppies lost their freedom ride. We’ve worked really hard to get as many of those out as possible, but as puppies get bigger and older they become less desirable for some reason.

Tell you the truth I don’t know why. Older puppies cry and whine less, have less accidents, chew up less stiff, and in general are less work. But what do I know?!

Anyways here’s a bunch of older puppies and dogs that really need homes. I will have the caretakers add comments under their pics as they can. Many of these dogs I have never met, I just make sure they have what they need and I do my best to find them somewhere to go.

They were all stray or neglected, and some wonderful person stepped up to help them. But I don’t have a magic wand for every animal in need, no matter how hard I try.

Please consider loving an older pup, or one that’s a full blown dog. Many of them are in the same place, as whole litters and their caretakers are struggling. We want more for them, and we need more for ourselves.

Available for adoption or rescue transfer. Please we need help too, to be able to keep helping everyone else.

More dumped dogs. And puppies.
3 adults and 2 puppies.

They need a foster. Before they get hit by cars or any other terrible thing the streets have to offer.

For all the random people who are going to throw out pointless comments:

There is no animal control.

There is no shelter.

No I can’t go feed them. But the finder did.

No I didn’t take this pic and leave them.

No the person who took the pic can’t take them.

No we don’t just give away unvetted dogs to random people. You can foster them. You can foster to adopt them. We must make sure where they go is going to be better not the same or worse.

Thanks for reading, and whoever did this I hope this makes your life easier while a bunch of people scramble to help them. You suck and I wish explosive poops on you in public.

It’s a transport day! And it was a little bit of a bumpy ride this week making it to the departure.

Short notice of how many kennels we could fill, last minute roster changes and vet appointments, trying to find volunteers yo get tasks done while some of our team just isn’t available to do much running around right now. But we pulled it off. Thank you to all the people that made it happen.

7 puppies got their freedom ride to North Shore Animal League America thanks to Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center making some room and working with us. We are so grateful for their assistance! After missing 2 major transports to this partner we were getting a little stressed over here.

None of this would be possible for these puppies without the caretakers who picked them up, nursed them back to health, advocated for them, and trusted us to work as hard as we can for them.

Sweet Sammy who was saved by Rodney, after he advocated for mama and the whole litter. He fostered Sammy and gave mama Grace a home.

Sissy who was saved by Jan and Eddie when her and her littermates were dumped on their property.

Luna and Charlotte who were saved by Jennifer, then Makinley and family stepped up to cre for them.

Bailey, Rosie, and Stella who were dumped in Winona and picked up by Priscilla and family.

7 sweet pups who deserved better than their owners gave them, but ordinary kind citizens took under their wing. That’s what our organization is about, helping the people who don’t look away. Who have no options.

Thank you to everyone who has made this possible over the last few weeks and months, getting these puppies ready for their turn.

We have a transport going out Sunday!

We are still finalizing our roster today but many pups are seeing the vet. And we owe the vet a lot of money.

3 dumped dogs, been at this location less than 24 hours but not exactly sure how long.

Rural back road. There is no shelter, there is no animal control.

They will sit here until they move on, or die.

They need a rescue, the rescue needs fosters, the rescue needs funds.

It was a transport day!

One lucky puppy has made her way out of TX and on to New York.

We pulled May (FKA Bella) from Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center when they were very full and needed help.

We pulled multiple puppies and then all of our transports to NY were canceled. Leaving us and our fosters in a bit of a lurch.

Puppies not leaving foster homes, means other puppies aren’t getting into foster homes. New fosters rarely volunteer to help.

We are so thankful to the fosters that have stuck with us while we worked through this, never complaining, and understanding so much of this is out of our hands. All we can do is support them while they love the pups, sometimes a little longer than expected.

May had one of the best fosters we could ask for, keeping her for nearly 2 extra months. She grew so much and is absolutely ready for a home of her own.

Thank you, Kim, for opening your home and your heart for this little nugget. We couldn’t save her without YOU!

Yesterday was a loooong day.

But it was also a transport day!

15 puppies loaded up and headed to Michigan, yes I miscounted on my last post. 🤷‍♀️

It’s been a rough summer with transports slowing down and being canceled. Our pipeline has jammed up a little. 

4 of these puppies waited a very long time for a solution. Then went from bottle babies in a large litter to giant toddlers under our umbrella. Shout out to Rhonda and her family for caring for mama and her pups. We continue to advocate for mama to seek her placement in a loving home. And a huge thank you to our VP, Joyce, for going above and beyond to support this dog family and the community caretakers. These puppies are absolutely gorgeous, and heavy. 

7 of these puppies had the best foster we could’ve asked for. Originally taking 4 thinking that was about all she could handle, but when we couldn’t find another foster she went and collected them too. So they could transport together. Rhonda is a rockstar of a foster and had fostered multiple of this serial dumpers litter. But I’m pretty sure I know where they are coming from now, the sheriff and I have our eyes on it.

4 of those pups had a relatively quick solution, they were born to a stray mama. We helped keep the pups out of the shelter, and are so grateful to the community caretaker for working with us to make that happen. Mama did go to the shelter and I hear she was adopted immediately. We are all doing the best we can out here in these streets and sometimes it takes a collaboration between resources to save a family. Thank you Haleigh and family, I know y’all got very attached to these babies.

None of this would be possible without our amazing rescue partners in Michigan, Tricia who coordinates all the travel logistics, Lynn who loans her beautiful van, our volunteers who help with outreach and vet runs, our core team and our donors.

Teamwork makes the dream work, and we have the best team.

It’s a transport day!

My personal foster, sweet Lady Liberty, is off to her forever home in New England.

A caring citizen in Kilgore advocated for her, her mama, and her brothers. I did what I could to improve all of their lives but she came home with me.

I brought her home on the 3rd of July, blue bully breeds are my weakness.

I work a lot, and most of the credit for fostering goes to my amazing kids. They kept her busy and cared for while I was busy at both of my jobs.

Lady Liberty is our last foster for a while. We are just not home enough for a pup with school back in session. She means so much to me, and I’m so happy she’s off to her new home.

She has an older dog to mentor her as she grows, and her new mama is so excited to meet her.
