Back on the Seabass grounds this morning after a couple days off with the wind. Life was similar to before the blow, plenty of readings just not enough bites. Finally found a patch of fish that wanted to bite a bit and had a few shots at them before they disappeared. Kept bouncing around looking for more but the life remained dull the rest of the day. Water temps dropped 10-15 degrees and the current was screaming out of the south. Definitely not ideal conditions.

Tomorrows forecast looks very breezy, but from the west. We'll most likely have to tuck into the beach and fluke fish, but if the wind backs off we will push off and try for some Seabass as well. Be prepared for either, but I anticipate to be fluke fishing the majority of the day.

JULY 3RD TALL SHIP VIEWING CRUISES!

Come on down for a once in a lifetime opportunity to get an up close and personal view of 22+ tall ships moored up in Sandy Hook Bay as they stage up for the Sail250 parade on the 4th.

These cruises will last 2 hours. The ships are right outside our marina, giving us a short ride to an incredible show, perfect for everyone in the family!

Only a handful of guys down at the dock this morning so we took a pass on the day. Have some weather coming in tonight, so with that being said we are not sailing tonight or either trip tomorrow. We'll be back at it for both trips in Friday!

Plan for Friday and this weekend is to start each day targeting Seabass. Depending on the life we find, we'll either stick with that for the day, or try some drifts for fluke. We want to fish for what's biting best, and what gives everyone the best chance to bring some meat home for dinner! We'll have gear for everything on board, and we'll be ready for anything.

Starting Monday morning we'll be full time fluke fishing. We'll be ocean fishing, sticky bottom right from the start.

Night Time Eeling🔥🔥🔥
After a ton of nights of cancellations due to weather, we're back!!! Great fishing all night with bites on almost every drift! Conditions weren't the best, but with lots of power drifting we made due! Pete led the way with 5 fish, as well as the pool fish at 47". Had to chase the tide around to a few different areas tonight as they wanted the fast drift, but whatever it takes!! Felt great to be back, this is prime time eeling season. Only a couple more weeks of it before it's over until fall.

Unfortunately the next bunch of nights look brutal with the weather/wind. Will keep an eye on it, but we'll put a post up the next night we're sailing. Want to get as many nights in as we can before the next moon, but don't want to waste anyone's time with poor/unsafe conditions!

Beautiful day on the ocean today, breeze from the north kept it nice and cool. Bounced around a ton of small spots to start the day, picking a couple keeper Seabass through decent short life on each. Readings were much better than they've been but the bite was still dull. Kept it moving but never found anything better than a death pick. Decided to make a move and found some fluke life. Good short action with a nice 20" keeper in our couple drifts. Great sign for next week, as we switch to fluke on Monday 6/22.

Back at it in the morning, we'll give it hell on the Seabass grounds. We'll resort to some fluke drifts if we have to! In the business to catch what's biting.

Got down to the boat this am and mannnn that wind was blowing😅 Had a good crew of people that still wanted to go so off we went. Wind definitely limited where and how we could fish, but we made due. First couple drops were just no good, with very little life. Landed on one with some bites and stuck with it for the rest of the day. Ok short life, with a handful of keepers in the mix. Also saw some ling and a keeper winter flounder today too. With how the morning went and the conditions we were presented with I was happy to see the bites, but by no means was it good. Thanks for fishing hard guys!

Tomorrow's a new day, looks like a much nicer forecast. Gives us the chance to do some looking.

Please bring some gear for fluking too, lots of fluke life showing up lately in the same areas we Seabass. If the seabassing is slow then we want to catch what's biting!

Unfortunately tonight's 6:30PM trip is canceled due to hard N winds. It'll be against the tide until after 10PM, which will cause very poor drifting conditions. Originally it was forecasted to back off as the day went on but it is not.

Tomorrow nights forecast is currently calling for light south winds which is perfect for the tide we have.

This time of year is typically when we see the best eel bite with the right conditions

Another slower day of Seabass fishing today. Morning started out pretty good with some shots of fish, seeing very nice size keepers off each drop. Thought we'd be able to put something together until that south wind came up and shut it right down. Spent the rest of the day bouncing spot to spot seeing the same thing everywhere. Loads of readings, and barely any bites. Very frustrating. But tomorrow's a new day, we'll see what happens. There's tons of fish around, they just need to eat.
