Meet HD🐾

This little soul was rescued from a village near our shelter called Nawapind . He was found outside an HDFC Bank branch, so we lovingly named him **HD**.

As you can see, HD was suffering from a severe maggot-infested wound. The pain, irritation, and discomfort he endured are almost unimaginable. In the scorching summer heat, even a small insect sitting on a wound can cause unbearable irritation. But in HD’s case, his wounds were filled with maggots that were literally feeding on his flesh.

The moment we received a video of his condition, we rushed to rescue him without delay.

Friends, during the summer season, maggot wounds can rapidly worsen the condition of these helpless animals and become life-threatening if left untreated.

Thankfully, a concerned caretaker informed us about HD, and we were able to bring him to safety immediately.

HD has now started his treatment. His wound dressings are being done regularly, and he is receiving antibiotics and all necessary medical care. However, due to the severity of his injuries, it will take approximately **3 to 4 weeks** for his wounds to heal completely.

Hello to all our lovely supporters,

Thank you soooooooo much for all the support and love you guys sent 🙏
It made us realize that we are not alone into this. Having a great support system encourages and motivates us to save more lives and give these deprived dogs a painless life of comfort, dignity and love.

Here are some videos and pictures from the storm damage yesterday.
The reason you see so much empty land, because we don’t have funds yet to create a safe heaven yet, that’s why we put temporary sheds to accommodate our rescues but even that was taken away by strong winds yesterday.

We are so grateful that our nightly team and all the dogs are safe and no lives were harmed. The only positive thing that came out of this damage that we know now that we need to build a stronger structure so these accidents don’t happen in future.

We are estimating a damage of 3-4 lakhs as of now as we have to put two stronger sheds now vs. bamboo huts.

🆘🆘🆘🆘🆘🆘

With the currrent storm in Amritsar, we have a severe damage to our shelter estimating up to $2k.
Thankfully all our night staff and dogs are ok, the real damage we will know tomorrow morning but we can’t do this alone.
We won’t be able to continue with rescues, if this mess is not clear and we look after the damage asap.

Every wagging tail you see here has a story of pain, abandonment, or suffering behind it. 💔

At Pawsitive Sanctuary, nearly 400 rescued animals call this place home, and on average, 2–3 new rescues arrive every single day. Some come injured, some starving, some fighting for their lives—but each one deserves a second chance.

Providing food, medicines, surgeries, and daily care for so many innocent souls costs us ₹15–16 lakhs every month. It’s a responsibility we carry with love, but we cannot do it alone.

Meet Bodhi 🐾

We received a video on our helpline about a dog in an extremely critical condition. Someone had spotted Bodhi suffering badly. His body was covered in flies, and one of his ears was severely infected and rotting.

The moment we saw the video, we knew this baby needed an emergency rescue. It was clear that his treatment would only be possible under proper shelter care. Without any delay, we immediately sent our rescue team to bring him to safety. A huge salute to our heroes who courageously step in and rescue these innocent souls, no matter how difficult the situation.

We do not know whether Bodhi was attacked by another dog or what exactly happened to him, but one thing was obvious—he was in immense pain and desperately needed urgent medical attention. His condition was so severe that even a slight delay in treatment could have cost him his life.

Bodhi is now safe with us, and his treatment has already begun. He is currently under our care and receiving the medical attention he needs.

We request everyone to keep Bodhi in their prayers. His treatment is expected to cost around ₹7,000 ($100) and we need your support to help him recover. Any contribution, no matter how small, can make a difference in saving his life.

Thank you for standing with Bodhi. And please, keep an eye on the animals around you. During the summer months, wounds can quickly become infested with maggots, causing unimaginable suffering if left untreated.

Shame on those people who bring an innocent child or pet home just for their own happiness, and when they get bored, they discard them like a toy. 💔

This is the same baby who was tied outside our shelter and abandoned. Even now, he is living in anxiety and confusion, unable to understand what happened to him or why he was suddenly taken away from his home. 😢

Aaj aapne ise chhod diya, kal agar aapke apne bachche aapko isi tarah akela chhod dein, to us dard ko aap kaise feel karenge?

Pets don’t need perfect owners, they just need loyal hearts. Please be responsible. ❤️🐾

Jab tak pyaar tha tab tak family, aur jab responsibility aayi to shelter ke bahar chhod diya? 💔

Strength is not measured by what we have lost, but by how bravely we keep moving forward❤️

Who remembers Dahil?

When Dahil came to us, he had survived a devastating train accident and was struggling with severe injuries. Seeing him in that condition was truly heartbreaking. But that was also the beginning of his incredible rescue and recovery journey.

Today, you can see how Dahil is living his best life despite losing his front legs. 🐾✨

He climbs onto the bed, enjoys his treats, sleeps peacefully, eats, drinks, runs around, plays, and does everything that other furry friends do. He has never let his challenges define him.

Dahil teaches us that no matter how difficult life may seem, courage, resilience, and the will to keep going can overcome even the toughest obstacles. ❤️

So, guys, let’s learn from the incredible spirit of these voiceless souls and continue supporting Dahil on his inspiring journey. Thank you for being a part of his story. 🙏🐶💕
