Pets may not be able to say when something feels wrong, but they often show it through small changes. A shift in appetite, energy, behavior, bathroom habits, movement, or mood can sometimes be a sign that they need extra attention.

Pet owners, tell us in the comments:
What change do you notice first when your pet isn’t feeling like themselves?

Is it less energy, not eating, hiding, acting clingy, bathroom changes, or something else?

Noticing these subtle signs early can help support your pet’s health, comfort, and overall well-being.

The answer to yesterday's Trivia Tuesday question, What animal smells like buttered popcorn? is...The Binturong aka Bearcat! They are not bears or cats, although they are in the same family as civets. There is a chemical compound, 2-acetyl-1-pyrroline, in their urine. This is the same compound that gives popcorn that smell when it pops. They mark their territory and attract mates with their popcorn-smelling urine. WOW! How interesting! If you guessed correctly, your intellect is as sharp as desire the smell of the binturong's urine incites in a person to want to watch Jurassic Park in a dark movie theater with a jumbo bucket of extra buttery popcorn, a soda the size of your head, and some Red Vines. Congrats!

This week’s Pet of the Week is Maggie Mae! Maggie Mae is a 9 month old Biewer Terrier who is named after the song by Rod Stewart. Her favorite things are berries, going to Grammy and Papa’s house, playing ball, and going for walks. Mom and nominator Julie says the cutest thing she does is steal her spot when she gets up then act innocent of her thievery once Julie returns, as if no crime has occurred and her spot remains unoccupied. Her best tricks are “high five” and “kisses” Aw. We love you, Maggie Mae!

The answer to yesterday's Trivia Tuesday question, what animal p*es out its face is: A: Lobsters! According to Snopes: "Found within a lobster's p*e are a fair number of pheromones, which they disperse through their nephropore rosette glands. The bladder of a lobster is located under its brain, and the rosette glands are connected to the urinary tract. Once these pheromones are produced, they are introduced into the urine stream. In the case of the American lobster, scientific name Homarus americanus, this pheromone-rich p*e is released from nephropores at the base of the lobster's large antennae and then injected into its gill current. According to the NEAQ, it has been determined that this urine stream can reach a length of seven times the lobster's body." If you guessed correctly congratulations! Your brain is as smart as the lobster's face p*e is far-reaching!
