Potato Chip Blocks:

After I finished the Pringles - I still had pieces left over so I started on the Potato Chip Blocks.

I had some time Sunday - and look at how they are growing!

I think they are 9 1/2 inch blocks??? I should have measured .. I will before they go into a top - I usually like to square up my blocks. But now I am just having fun mindlessly stitching them.

I tried to get caught up on my blog reading too - and I saw that Cynthia at Many Hands and Many hearts has started a new block drive - a mini potato chip ish block.

I got all excited - here was another way to use up these pieces, until my brain turned on and I saw she wants the pieces 2 1/2 inch wide. NO WORRIES... I have a bin full of 2 1/2 inch strips = so will take some time and pull the colors she wants.

I really like being able to help out when I can - When I first started Quilts of Valor here so many people helped us - its nice to be able to give back, even if its just a little.

Off to play in the 2 1/2 strip bin...

Learning a New Technique:
Saturday we had a workshop with Carla J, and she was amazing. She taught a new to me technique of piecing, and I really enjoyed it.

It wasn't paper piecing, and it wasn't applique - but others in our group who had done that type of work were able to draw from that experience. I haven't done any Paper Piecing and VERY LITTLE applique - so I was the newbie

We gathered supplies, and we were supposed to bring freezer paper... so I brought something that I thought was freezer paper - but!! Did you know that Parchment Paper and Freezer Paper are not the same thing? I do now!!! My Friend Cindy had extra so I was all good! (Pic1)

We did some Drawing and some fabric choosing... and then we got to work...

This is my FIRST Curved seam of the day - and heck fire - if it just didn't turn out so nice!! (Pic3)

I then learned to match and pin - and!! Got half of my leaf done. I kind of like it. It does take a long time though, and now I have some wonky cuts out my fabric - but I think I will survive.(pic4)

Hope your week has been wonderful!!!

I finally finished my own Marching Stars!! I am so glad - and I am not sure where(or even why!!) I stalled out - but! we are done now!!

You can find the Pattern to Marching Stars on my blog under the winter quilt a long tab ( still need to edit the name )

We have been trying to teach Pound Puppy to be a SnooperModel too.... but she hasn't quite got the hang of it!!
