OH HOW WE ADORE YOU COCOA! đź’—đź’—đź’—

This beloved 4 year old Beagle/Daschund Mix has absolutely stolen all of our hearts. She was surrendered by her family when they couldn’t have her in their Assisted Living Home. She is understandably heartbroken and we all love and pamper her as much as we can every single day. But Cocoa deserves to spend her life in a forever home where she is treated like the sweet princess she is. Cocoa gets along great with other dogs and loves to play. She walks well on a leash and has never met a stranger. Cocoa also loves playing in our puppy pools and rolling around in the grass. She loves making visits to our Resale Shop where everyone absolutely adores her and always have a treat waiting. We can’t really say enough about how darling and special this girl is. You’ll just have to come meet her and see for yourself.

Yayyyyy it’s Friday! May we interest you in some “Brie” and “Bubbles?” These absolutely adorable grey tabbies are around 3.5 months old and ready for their forever homes. Brie on the left is very petite but has a big personality and loves to wrestle with her sister Bubbles. Bubbles lives up to her name and is very bubbly and social. Both of them are extremely cuddly and love getting attention from our staff and volunteers. If you sit on the floor they’ll be in your lap in no time flat. They both love playing with their toys and it’s endlessly entertaining watching them race around the kitten room. Don’t miss out on these precious kittens. We hope you’ll want to adopt one of them soon. Or even better - adopt both of them and double your fun!

FREE HUGS FOR LIFE!

Give a warm welcome to the newest member of our family “Ella!” This beautiful Red Tick Hound Mix was dumped on a highway known for being a dumping ground for unwanted animals. We can’t even stand to think of her heartbreak watching who she THOUGHT was her person drive away without her. We are committed to finding Ella TRUE home where she never has to worry about being discarded again. Ella loves everyone she meets and her favorite thing to do is give hugs. She wraps her arms around you and doesn’t let go. It’s as if she’s saying “please don’t leave me!”She has gorgeous markings and is extremely friendly with all other dogs, large and small. Ella gets spayed and up to date on shots next Monday and then she will be ready to go. We have high hopes of finding this special girl an equally caring person. Could it be you ?

Please give a warm round of applause for the one and only “Dolly PAWton!”

At first we were thinking Dolly was a Great Pyrenees Mix. And she very well may have some Pyrenees in her DNA. But when we looked up English Creme Golden Retriever, the picture looked exactly like Dolly. And she definitely has the PERSONALITY of a Golden Retriever!

This incredibly sweet girl truly lives up to her namesake. It is unimaginable to us that her owner abandoned her and we can’t stand the thought of her waiting for them to return for her. She waited at Animal Control too and still no one came for her. We will keep you safe Dolly and will make sure you get the family you deserve. This beautiful girl will get spayed and her vaccines next Monday. Once she’s healed and fully vaccinated she will be ready for her FOREVER family. You really won’t believe how STUNNING Dolly is in person or how incredibly friendly she is. She is already learning new commands like “sit” and “shake.” She walks well on a leash and has never met a stranger. It’s no surprise that Dolly is an instant favorite of everyone’s at the shelter and resale shop. Don’t wait a minute to come meet this beautiful girl. She won’t be here too long.

“Queenie” is such a TINY GIRL!
Thank you Marlene for spending so much time with all of our beautiful cats. This tiny adult female is “Queenie” and she is absolutely precious. She’s very petite and at about a year old she won’t get much bigger. Queenie is very affectionate and playful. Even though I haven’t spent any time with her she immediately came up to me and crawled in my lap. She has the most beautiful big eyes and a super soft coat. I loved seeing her personality and playfulness interacting with Marlene and her favorite toys. If you come meet this little girl we promise you’ll fall in love!

SUCH A HAPPY BOY!!!

Can’t tell you how CUTE and HAPPY “Eddie” is! This precious male Australian Terrier seems to never have a bad day. He was upbeat when we met him at Kerr County Animal Control and has been nothing but enthusiastic and sweet since he arrived here at the Humane Society. Eddie’s reddish brown coat is even more beautiful in person than you can tell in this video. This adorable, friendly, smart boy won’t be here long so be sure to come meet him fast!

“Wednesday” says HAPPY NATIONAL DOG DAY!

It was hard choosing a dog today for National Dog Day because ALL of our dogs are so wonderful. We chose Wednesday because she is exceptionally special. Out of all of the dogs here, Wednesday is the most accommodating and adaptable when it comes to playing with other pups. She not only gets along with every one of our dogs, she’s also incredibly intuitive about adapting her play style to the dog she’s playing with. Wednesday will wrestle and be rambunctious with dogs her own size and she will get down low and play more gently with smaller dogs. Any time we have a new dog arrive at the shelter and we’re looking for a companion, Wednesday is our go-to girl. She’s never met a stranger and makes new dogs feel welcomed and at home. Wednesday is a Lab mix and loves all people and walks great on a leash. She knows “sit”, “down”, “stay” and shake. It is a mystery to us that Wednesday has been here so long. She’s almost 4 years old and about 50 pounds. The most important requirement needed in a home for this beautiful girl is either a wooden privacy fence or a very tall chain link fence. Unfortunately Wednesday can climb out of a standard height chain link fence. But we know that the right family and home is out there for this highly intelligent girl. Please share her post let’s find Wednesday the forever home she’s been waiting for.

Welcome to the family “Eddie!”

Eddie is brand new to the shelter and we are ALL smitten with him. Eddie is an Australian Terrier which according to their breed description are characterized as “plucky“, “spirited” and “lively”. So far Eddie is definitely proving these traits to be true. Even though he just arrived, Eddie allowed us to trim his nails with little resistance and has no problem with people holding him. He has a very unique and stunning red coat and we can’t wait to give him a shampoo and slight hair trim. Eddie is already wanting to play with his new friends here at the Shelter and has been extremely friendly with everyone he’s met. At about 1 and a half to 2 years old Eddie is 11 pounds and is a fantastic size dog for someone looking for a more petite companion. We don’t think Eddie will be here long so be sure to come meet this darling boy quickly!

This little guy is just about as cute as they come. “Jar Jar” (named after a Star Wars character) is a male Corgi/Terrier Mix who came in with his two sisters. Jar Jar is around three and a half months old and about 10 pounds. He’s a little more reserved than his two sisters but is every bit as snuggly and sweet. Jar Jar is making strides learning how to walk on his leash and loves to be outdoors. He’s never met a stranger and Jar Jar loves to be as close as possible to the staff and volunteers at the shelter. Jar Jar will be getting neutered and his next set of vaccines on August 24th and should be ready to go home on the 26th. Don’t take too long making plans to visit this sweet boy! He’s pretty awesome.
