Duration for commands can be challenging if dogs are in an unfamiliar place, but not for this brave girl! Walking through Lowe's was a breeze. Miela is a rockstar working her commands! Her owners make sure they practice with her regularly and it shows. Last week, we worked on child distractions, this week we worked on some dog distractions. Miela was more comfortable and confident around another dog than a child (who can blame her? 😅). Her session went well enough that we decided to spend a few minutes on an advanced command which we call "send away to place." Of course, she picked up on that super quick! She's one smart cookie!

Our friend Gunner here is using some of his advanced lessons to work through impulse control. He has a difficult time controlling himself on walks when other dogs go by. We set up a work session with another dog at our facility and spent lots of time walking and working with their presence. He did very well in this controlled setting with the dogs he was working around. With practice, hopefully he will be a much more mannerly pup for his walkies!
