🐾🐾This is a long post, but we ask that you please take the time to read it🐾🐾
I feel like it’s time to address a few things that have unfortunately become far too common.
Going forward, disrespectful behavior toward me or any member of our staff will not be tolerated. This includes yelling, arguing, personal insults, rude comments, or angry outbursts because you disagree with one of our policies. Threats of a bad review changes nothing.
Our cancellation policy exists for a reason.
When an appointment is canceled at the last minute, your groomer does not get paid. That appointment time was reserved specifically for your pet, and with little notice, it is extremely difficult—often impossible—to fill that spot. We frequently hear, “But you have a cancellation list.” We do. However, most people have jobs, families, appointments, and lives of their own. They cannot necessarily drop everything with a few hours’ or one day’s notice and bring their dog to the salon simply because an appointment suddenly became available. We understand that things happen. People get sick. Cars break down. Emergencies come up. We are human, and we absolutely understand that.
However, an unexpected situation does not change the fact that the groomer has now lost income. Our cancellation fee is not a punishment. It is compensation for time that was reserved for you and can no longer reasonably be filled. How would you like to go to work and not be paid for your time?
You are always welcome to disagree with a policy. What you are not welcome to do is yell at, insult, berate, or have an angry outburst toward our staff because you don't like it. If our policies do not work for you, that is completely okay. There are many wonderful groomers in the area, and you are absolutely free to find one whose policies are a better fit for you. What will no longer happen is our staff being expected to tolerate disrespect because someone is unhappy about a boundary or a fee.
We also need to address our pet photos. We know how much many of you love the finished photos we take of your pets, and we love that you enjoy them! However, these photos are an extra that takes a significant amount of time outside of the actual grooming appointment. Taking the photos, editing them, creating the finished images, and getting everything posted can easily add several hours to an already full workday. Much of this work is being done after hours, at home, during personal time.
Unfortunately, we have also started receiving complaints when photos aren't taken or posted. Please understand that photos have never been included as part of your pet's grooming service. They have always been something extra that we provided simply because we enjoyed doing it and loved giving our clients something special. However, spending two or three additional hours after work creating photos at no charge—and then receiving complaints when they aren't provided—is simply no longer sustainable.
Going forward, clients who would like a finished photo of their pet will have the option to add one for a small additional fee. This allows us to continue offering something so many of you enjoy while also recognizing the time and work involved in creating them. Photos are completely optional and, of course, have absolutely no effect on the quality of care or grooming your pet receives.
At the end of the day, this really comes down to one thing: respect. We respect our clients. We respect their time. We love and care for their pets as if they were our own. In return, we expect our time, our policies, and our staff to be treated with that same respect.
The overwhelming majority of our clients are absolutely wonderful, and we cannot thank you enough for supporting us, respecting our policies, and treating our team with kindness. ❤️
Moving forward, our boundaries will be enforced. Disrespectful behavior toward any member of our team will result in termination of services.
We love what we do. We love your pets. But kindness and respect are not optional.
Thank you!
