Thank you so much for your patience and encouragement over the last few weeks. Please note the following information and adjustments we are in the process of making in order to make things more efficient for everyone.

Can’t get an appointment as soon as you planned? Ask to be put on the waitlist. We are booking out 7 or 8 weeks and more for certain breeds but we do have a waitlist. We will reach out if spots open up—and as we grow our team, those on the list may be able to get in sooner!

We are making some pricing adjustments and implementing an improved client engagement system that we are excited to roll out.

Unfortunately we are temporarily unable to provide walk in services without constantly stepping away from the dogs so please call ahead to schedule them.

The good news? We’re actively looking to add talented, experienced groomers to our team so we can serve more of you (and your pups!) without sacrificing quality.

We truly believe in what we’ve built here and are doing everything we can to grow the right way.

Hello to all of our hounds (and their humans).

In order to maintain transparency just wanted to highlight some of the challenges grooming salons like ours are currently facing industry wide.

Significant operating cost increases, a shortage of experienced groomers, and a major increase in time-intensive grooming services have created real challenges for our small business.

Many of today’s grooms require significantly more time, skill, and physical effort than ever before—yet current pricing and staffing don’t reflect that reality.

Because of this, we are evaluating what a sustainable future for Handsome Hounds looks like. Changes to pricing, services, availability and even closing our doors may be necessary to continue providing the quality care your dog deserves as well as a business model that justifies staying open.

Handsome Hounds Update

We appreciate your patience and recognize some frustration as we are juggling the demands of a busy grooming salon that prioritizes the well-being and safety of the dogs.

Every time we stop mid-groom—for calls, walk-ins, or check-ins—it disrupts the process and can increase stress for the dog on our table. That’s why we may not always be able to provide walk in services, answer phone calls, return messages in what feels like a timely manner or complete your dog groom as fast as you might expect.

We ask that you keep the following in mind:

-Why is my dogs groom taking so long?
Grooming includes bathing, drying, brushing & more—most importantly it’s at your dog’s pace.

-Why does it cost what it does to have my dog groomed?
Skilled work, time, a huge shortage of experienced groomers and rapidly rising small business expenses.

-Why can’t I get in sooner? I used to!
Demand has grown, grooms take time, and again there is a shortage of experienced groomers. We book out to ensure every dog gets the care and attention they deserve.

How you can help:
• Book ahead (months if not a year out).
• Ask to be added to our wait list
• Call ahead for walk-ins (not always available)
• Be on time & give notice for changes
