Congratulations to Lily on graduating from Private Lessons!🎓

As a former Puppy Kindergarten graduate, Lily came back ready to level up her skills, and it has been such a joy working with her and her family along the way. Watching their teamwork and progress together has been incredibly rewarding.

When winter weather makes it too cold or unsafe to spend extended time outside, add-on services are a great way to keep pups mentally and physically fulfilled indoors. These activities help burn energy, reduce boredom, build confidence, and give pups extra enrichment and one-on-one attention during the colder months, all while staying warm and safe inside.

Playtime Report Card:
Get photos and videos of your pup during interactive playtime so you can see who they played with and how their day went.

Warm Blanket Tuck-In:
Your pup’s blanket is warmed in the dryer and used to tuck them in before bedtime. Extra cozy and perfect for winter stays.

Short Snuggle:
One-on-one couch snuggle time with a staff member for pups who love quiet affection.

Short Sniffari (On-Site):
A relaxed walk around the property where your pup can sniff, decompress, and potty in peace.

Jolly Herding:
Your pup gets the chance to herd our Jolly Egg or herding ball. A great outlet for herding breeds and pups who love to work.

Bath:
Send your pup home fresh, clean, and smelling great.

Personal Playtime:
One-on-one playtime tailored to your pup’s favorite activities, whether that’s fetch, tug, snuggles, or roughhousing.

Lunge Whip Chasing:
Your pup gets to chase a flirt pole in a controlled session. Perfect for pups with high prey drive or bird dogs who love to chase.

Brush-Out Massage:
Gentle brushing with a slicker brush or ZoomGroom based on coat type. Great for pups prone to matting or those who just love being brushed.
Disclaimer: our staff are not groomers, but we’ll do our best to work through minor mats.

Confidence Course:
Uses agility equipment like the A-frame, weave poles, hoops, and wobble surfaces to build confidence through positive reinforcement and new experiences.

Nose Work:
Your pup works through treat-filled puzzles like snuffle mats, balls, or enrichment toys to engage their brain and nose.

Slatmill:
A dog-powered run on our slatmill, where your pup controls speed, pace, and breaks. First session includes extra one-on-one time to introduce the equipment and cues like “go,” “easy,” and “stop.”

FitPaws:
“Doggy Pilates” using FitPaws equipment to improve balance, coordination, strength, and body awareness.

Adventure Hikes (Off-Site):
Off-site hikes when the weather allows. Available on select days, so keep an eye out for announcements.

Happy 3rd Birthday to Maddie!🎂
It has been such an honor watching Maddie grow up. We can still remember when she was just a little bean in Puppy Kindergarten, and now here she is celebrating her third birthday!

Maddie is the cuddliest girl ever and made sure to collect lots and lots of extra snuggles to celebrate her special day! We absolutely adore this sweet girl and feel so lucky to be part of her journey!

Alanna & Sam spent last week in Nashville at one of our annual conferences.

They spent the week networking, learning about new resources and gaining fresh insights and are excited to bring back some fresh ideas. We strive to always keep learning and evolving for our team and the dogs we get to care for.

Because when we grow, our dogs thrive and that’s what it’s all about. 💙🐶

🎉 Happy 3rd Birthday to Bellatrix!🎂
Bellatrix is such a sweetie pie, and we adore her to pieces. She celebrated her birthday the best way possible by bringing snacks to share with both her dog friends and her human friends. She is one of our beloved weekend daycare regulars and keeps things fun bouncing between the Rowdy Rompers and Balanced Buddies rooms depending on her vibe for the day. She is also a total pro on the slatmill and always impresses us.
We love celebrating this wonderful girl and are so lucky to have her as part of our Kim’s K9 family. Happy Birthday, Bellatrix!💙🐾

🎉 Happy 1st Birthday to Lychee!🎂
It has been such an honor watching Lychee grow up over this last year. From Puppy Kindergarten and Private Puppy Playground to Bootcamp, daycare, and boarding, she has truly grown up with us. She has been such a playful, joyful presence in our Tiny Tots room and continues to steal hearts everywhere she goes.
We adore this sweet girl to pieces and cannot wait to see what the next year brings for her. Happy Birthday, Lychee!💙🐾

Help us welcome Lottie and Tilly to our Day Training program!🐾💙

🐶 Lottie, an American foxhound mix, is here to work on keeping her paws off the counters, building a reliable recall, and curbing those mouthing habits.

🐶 Tilly, a German Shepherd, is focusing on confidence building, working through stranger danger, and strengthening her recall so she can feel safe and secure in new situations.

We’re excited to support both of these girls as they grow in confidence and skills throughout their training journeys!

We are nearing February which means we are getting closer to our anual Valentine’s Box exchange!

Think back to when your kids were in school and they decorated a box to take in, then brought it back full of fun stickers, cards & candy. But now think about your dog coming home with lots of cards and yummy goodies!

Here’s how it works:
Make a fun box for your pup! This can require as little work or as much creativity as you would like. Then you will need about 25 goodies to bring in with your box that can be shared with their play room friends. Once you have your box and goodies made, drop them off in the lobby with our office staff and wait for the fun to start.

On Friday February 13th we will take all of the cards and goodies and pass them out to your pup’s friends and stuff everyone’s box full! Anyone who participated will be able to take their box of goodies home starting on the 13th.

We are excited to spread the love over the next month and can’t wait to see everyone’s creativity! 💕☺️

We’ve got exciting news!✨

We’re so excited to be partnering with Rats Across Michigan to bring Urban Barn Hunt to Kim’s K-9! 🐾

So what is Urban Barn Hunt?
It’s a dog sport designed to channel a dog’s natural hunting and scenting instincts in a safe, structured way. Dogs use only their noses to locate rats that are humanely and securely contained. In the urban version, this all happens indoors, with pups searching through household-style objects, tunnels, and obstacles instead of hay bales.

Why we love it:
• Provides powerful mental enrichment and a clear job
• Builds confidence and independence through problem-solving
• Accessible for dogs of all sizes, ages, and breeds
• Mental work like this can be just as fulfilling as physical exercise

A few weeks ago, our own trainer Beck decided to try a class herself and brought along her 12-lb pup, Pip. They had an absolute blast, and it was so fun to watch Pip’s confidence grow as she figured the game out.

Congratulations to Ziggy and Hercules on graduating their Day Training programs!🐾✨

These two are such sweet, gentle souls, and it has been amazing to watch how much they’ve grown over the last few weeks. They both put in so much effort, and it truly shows.

We are so happy to see Ziggy and Hercules achieving their goals and are so proud of the gentlemen they are becoming. Way to go, boys!🎉🐶

Birthday roundup time!🎂🐾
We had so many pups celebrating with us this week, we had to share them all together!

🎈Piper celebrated her 12th birthday with us on Tuesday in the Tiny Tots room. She is the sweetest little peach and is always up for snuggles.
🎈Brutus turned 3 on Wednesday in the Balanced Buddies room. He’s a happy, bouncy guy who is well known for climbing right into our laps for extra love.
🎈Toby celebrated his 1st birthday on Wednesday in the Mighty Mediums room. He’s truly the life of the party and keeps everyone moving and on their toes in the best way.
🎈Chewie celebrated his birthday with us on Thursday in the Tiny Tots room. He’s a calm, steady presence who goes with the flow and is always happy to be part of whatever is happening.
🎈Beau wrapped up the week by celebrating his 1st birthday with us today in the Mighty Mediums room. In true Aussie fashion, he’s always rounding up his friends and making sure the fun never stops.

We are so grateful we get to be part of these special days. Happy Birthday to all of you!💙🐾🎉

Our newest Puppy Kindergarten class is officially underway!🐶🎉
This group is already full of personality, and we’re so excited to see how much they grow over the next few weeks. We’re in for a fun one!
