I was just asked about cleaning carpets with bird in the house so I thought I'd share with you!

Just use hot water in your carpet machine and if you have 2 dispensers on it put hydrogen peroxide in one and rubbing alcohol in the other. Make sure you pull back very slowly to ensure you get all the water sucked up. Wet carpets will delaminate if you don't. If you only have one dispenser just mix the two with 1/3 rubbing alcohol and 2/3 peroxide. It makes the carpet kind of crusty feeling but if you use soap and other chemicals it will just wick the dirt right back to it. I used to work for a carpet company and learned that many years ago!
