Skip the rattlesnake vaccine. Instead, do your research and find out in advance, what veterinary clinics usually carry anti-venom in the area you will be walking your dogs. Make sure you advocate for the anti-venom and learn what tests the veterinarian should perform.

Spring / heat is here and rattle snakes are out in central and eastern Washington. Is the vaccine effective to lower the symptoms for a dog bitten by a rattle snake?

Dog language lesson: this is not aggression. And it’s not dominance. This is a correction. Leo (the brown lapponian herder is telling Ganan (the brown / white husky) to back off as he needs space when he is about to do his business. The huskies are younger and very enthusiastic about his older brother and sometimes Leo gently tells them to give him space, but sometimes, he is a bit more dramatic. Ganan is very good at listening after this correction and immediately backs off.

These boys had a period of fighting, almost daily. With the right protocol and amazing work from the dog parents, these brothers are best friends again. ❤️
