Hi, everyone! Here’s an updated biography for new and inquiring clients to get to know me. This month marks 7 years of running my business. Thanks for sticking around! 🐾
My name is Kacie James and I started my pet sitting business in May 2019. I grew up in the Kent area and attended Kentridge High School for 3 years before graduating from an online academy in eastern WA. I’m currently working on my AS in Biology.
Animals have been my passion for as long as I can remember, primarily dogs and proper pet care practices. I love enjoying nature through hiking, kayaking, gardening, and fish keeping. I have a pond with long fin goldfish and white cloud minnows and I’ve had a few aquariums over the years. I also have two dogs and two cats; you’ll probably see Ziva, my smooth Collie, featured the most as we train often. Dog training, dog sports, conformation, preservation breeding, rescue work, and supporting local pet stores are all things that I love to practice or learn more about everyday.
I believe that people deserve peace of mind when leaving their pets in someone else’s care. I take so much pride in being able to provide that for my clients— integrity, reliability, respect for their homes, and personalized quality care for their animals. Whether it’s a dog, cat, rodent, reptile or livestock. I’m proud to be “one of the good ones” when people share their previous, not-so-great pet sitter experiences.
I’ve met and grown close to so many people and their pets. There’s some that I love as if they’re my own. I have the privilege of continuing training protocols and hearing about their progress. I’ve been kept up to date on health conditions even when I haven’t seen them in a while. I’ve gotten “the text” when clients have passed away. My business isn’t just a job, it’s personal and a big part of my life, just like caring for my own animals— it’s an extension of me.
Down the road my business will likely grow and change into a more dog-centered professional career, but the last 7 years have given me a lot of great foundational experience in a field that I love. I appreciate you all and I’m glad I can be there for you and your animals. I wish I could be available every time one of you needed me, especially those who won’t hire anyone else. 😅🫶🏻
