Foster a Kensett Shelter Dog!

We are an outdoor shelter with limited resources at the shelter. We would love to give our dogs a safe place to stay until they get adopted. We will provide you with all the items needed to take care of the dog and take care of their vet expenses. You only have to provide a safe loving home and help them learn what it means to live in a home. Rescues are lot more interested if a dog has a foster. Fostering a dog makes it 14 times more likely for the dog to get adopted.

Meet Darlene from the Barr litter

This adorable nugget is Cur mix, 15 lbs and at 3 months is finally learning how to love life and live safe. She loves snuggling, playing with her siblings, being the excited daughter to her mom and working out in the doggie gym with some time at the doggie pool and lifting up some heavy ropes. Note that we expect her to grow up to 50-60bs when fully grown.

Starting off the week with some good news.

Hopscotch got adopted! Because of your shares, her mom found her at our shelter and immediately applied to make her part of her family. She is enjoying the life of being the only dog at home being pampered the way she should be! Live the happiest life that you deserve!

After 500+ days at the shelter and 7 months in foster, Wesley is officially a foster fail! Wesley's foster mom fell in love with this boy within a week of him coming home but took her time to realize this was meant to be. Wesley has been thriving at her home and we found out he gets along well with cats and female dogs. Thank you so much to his foster mama now forever mama for taking a chance on him!

Meet adoptable Tito,

Tito came to us after he was found in a bit of a vulnerable position. We reached out to the owners but they never responded and ultimately moved away. Tito is about 8 months old and is listed as a Weim mix. The vet believes he is a Weim/lab mix. He is absolutely full of joy and wriggles a lot when he is happy (which is most times). He is good with dogs and humans and is currently weighs 40 pounds and we believe he will probably be 50 pounds when he grows fully.

This past Saturday all of our dogs were blessed as part of the Kensett United Methodist Church 's annual Blessing of the Animals Event. The church was also kind enough to raise some money for our dogs. Here are some pictures from the day.

Thank you to the church for blessing our dogs. We know it will go a long way in helping them get a loving home and a happy life.
