Wisconsin is starting to warm up, so it is important to remember that even the mildest temps can quickly become dangerous inside of a parked car, putting your pet at serious risk in just minutes.

Even cracking the windows or parking in the shade does not keep your pet safe. Dogs and cats can’t regulate heat the same way we do, and heatstroke can happen fast.

👉 Please never leave your pet unattended in a parked car, even for a “quick” trip inside.

If you see an animal left alone in a vehicle and in distress, contact local authorities immediately.

Last week we celebrated Veterinary Assistant Appreciation Week with our amazing veterinary assistants: Mandy, Caitlyn, Crystal, Jessika, and Sarah- all who help keep Prairie Side Veterinary Hospital - Kenosha running each and every day.

From patient care and comforting nervous pets to assisting in procedures, monitoring anesthesia, handling treatments, and being there for our clients , our assistants do it all, and we are so grateful for their dedication, compassion, and teamwork.

To top off the week, our veterinary assistants completed RECOVER CPR certification training hosted by BluePearl Pet Hospital on Friday, continuing our commitment to providing the highest level of care to our patients.

Prairie Side Veterinary Hospital will be closed today, Monday, in observance of Memorial Day. We will reopen tomorrow at 8:00 AM.

Today, we remember and honor the brave men, women, and four-legged soldiers who served alongside them with loyalty, courage, and sacrifice.
