Not everything we find during pickups gets scooped. 😂🐛

We came across this American dagger moth caterpillar cruising through a yard today.

It may look soft and fuzzy, but those hairs can irritate your skin — so this is definitely a “look, don’t touch” kind of critter.

Just another interesting little thing we notice while we’re out there. 💛

🐾 Pooper of the Week: Bernard 🐾

Meet Bernard — also known as Royal Knight Bernard.

Bernard is 9 years old and as sweet and gentle as they come. He loves his stuffed blue dog, which he carefully cares for like it’s his own puppy. His favorite treats are pretty simple: anything edible… or anything that doesn’t eat him first.

One of his favorite places to be is curled up on dirty laundry or cuddled next to his Daddy — and sometimes, he may not know the difference.

His name means “brave bear” in German, and it fits him perfectly. Bernard is soft, cuddly, and loving, but brave when he needs to be. His name also has a special connection to his human sister Kerry, whose nickname is KerBear — sweet and gentle, but brave when necessary, too.

A noble name for a very special boy.

We see you, Bernard. 🐾

🐾 Legendary Poopers: Tank 🐾

Today’s Legendary Pooper is a special one.

Tank had been part of the Pooptopia family since April of 2024, and sadly, he passed away yesterday.

He lived a long life with a family who loved him deeply, and it was a privilege to know him and help care for his yard. Dogs like Tank leave a mark, not just on their families, but on the people lucky enough to be a small part of their routine.

Tank, you were loved, you will be missed, and you will always be one of Pooptopia’s Legendary Poopers.

Please keep Tank’s family in your thoughts. 💛

A little update on our backyard bunny nest. 🐰❤️

The babies are still tucked safely inside, so during the day I’m placing a laundry basket over the nest to keep Olive and Louie from getting a little too curious. 😂

At night, the basket comes off so mama can come back and care for them.

So far, everyone is cooperating… mostly because two of them don’t have a choice. 🐶🐶

🐾 Pooper of the Week: Tico 🐾

This week’s Pooper of the Week is a very special one — our first dog, Tico.

Today marks 5 years since we lost him. His passing was very sudden, and he was far too young. Losing him broke our hearts in a way we’ll never forget.

For a long time, we knew we wanted to do something in his memory. We didn’t know exactly what that would look like at first, but looking back, Tico is a big part of how Pooptopia came to be.

If we hadn’t lost Tico, we may not have gotten Olive and Louie. And if we hadn’t gotten Olive and Louie, I may not have become so focused on keeping the yard picked up so they didn’t step in it, roll in it, or bring it back inside like the little chaos agents they are.

That focus eventually turned into something much bigger — helping other families keep their yards cleaner and safer for their dogs, too.

Tico may not be here with us, but his memory is woven into this business in a way that still matters every single day.

This one is for you, Tico. Our first dog, forever loved and never forgotten. ❤️🐾

Apparently we have some very tiny tenants in our yard. 🐰❤️

Olive and Louie found a bunny nest, so we’re giving it a little extra protection during the day and taking the basket off at night so mama can come back and do her thing.

Rent is currently very reasonable. 😂

Apparently, when you grow up around Pooptopia, “Who wants to pick up p**p?” sounds a lot like “Who wants to go for a ride?” 😂💩

Olive and Louie are always ready to report for duty.

🐾 Pooper of the Week: Lucia 🐾

Meet Lucia — a black Lab mix who joined her family last October after being fostered and then adopted through TLC, The Labrador Connection.

Her age is estimated to be around 5 or 6, and her name means “light” — which fits perfectly with the joy she brings every day.

Lucia is a true snuggler and lovebug… unless she’s busy at her neighborhood watch post, taking her job very seriously.

Her favorite treats? Poached salmon or catfish — and yes, she cries and smacks her lips when she knows it’s coming.

Sweet, watchful, and very aware when the good snacks are being shared.
