This National Veterinary Technician Week, we're celebrating the incredible Associates who make our hospitals thrive — like Karen, who began as a CSR and never stopped growing and like Joanne, who sought mentorship and support to obtain her VTNE.

At VCA, we're proud to champion our veterinary technicians every step of the way — offering mentorship, encouragement, and the resources to help you reach your full potential.

To every vet tech in our VCA family: thank you. What you do matters deeply — to our teams, to our patients, and to the pet owners who trust us with their most beloved companions.

Every surgery starts long before the first incision. It starts with a veterinary technician who has spent years mastering their skills, anticipating needs, monitoring vitals, and showing up fully prepared for every patient who comes through the door.

Vet techs are the heart of every OR team, and their skill and dedication make a difference every single day. At some VCA specialty hospitals, we take surgical collaboration even further. Some of our teams include Certified Surgical Technologists (CSTs) — professionals who earned specialized degrees specifically to support surgeons in the OR.

The result? Less time under anesthesia. Better outcomes. And a team that truly works as one. 💙

Because every patient is somebody's pet — and they deserve nothing less than the best.

Plants are a great way to brighten up a home! But no matter how green your thumb is, some plants are toxic for pets.
Most plants produce toxins as a natural defense mechanism to protect themselves from being eaten by animals, insects or fungi. These chemicals can cause mild irritation or even severe reactions in pets, depending on the plant and the amount ingested.
While some plants have evolved to be non-toxic or even edible, others rely on their toxicity to survive in the wild.
Being mindful of poisonous plants for pets ensures your home remains safe and beautiful, too!

Fourth of July can be a very scary day for your pets, and YOU!
More pets go missing around the Fourth of July than any other day of the year. The loud booms, vibrations, and flashing lights can trigger a severe panic response, forcing even the calmest of animals into a "fight or flight" state. If you are worried your pet may run away, the best thing to do is to:
1. Make sure they have a microchip implanted
2. Make sure all your information is up-to-date on your pets microchip registration
3. Stay calm, walk around calling your pets name, ask neighbors and post on "lost pets groups"

If you need to get your pet microchipped before the 4th of July call us at (509)-783-0399
