🐾❤️ Pet of the Week: Peanut! ❤️🐾

Meet Peanut! 🥜🐶 This adorable 17-week-old American Bully came in this past week for his puppy exam and vaccines, and we couldn’t resist making him our Pet of the Week!

Peanut is a social butterfly who LOVES saying hello to everyone he meets! 🥰 His favorite things include car rides, cow ears, crinkly toys, and snacking on apples and cucumbers. And, of course, he loves spending time with his best friend, Duke! ❤️🐾

Now, Peanut does have a few things he’s not a fan of… like the vacuum! 😅 And apparently, any “foreign” object that hasn’t been properly inspected is highly suspicious — including grocery bags. 😂🛍️

Peanut is also a little needy when it comes to getting attention. If a new friend doesn’t say hi, he’ll let them know with a little whining! 😂 And just like his mom, Peanut’s face says EVERYTHING he’s thinking. He has absolutely no control over his facial expressions, and you can definitely see it in some of these photos! 😂📸

Overall, Peanut is one special pup and truly a social butterfly! 🦋🐶 We loved getting to meet this sweet boy and watch his personality shine. ❤️

🎀💗 Breast Cancer Awareness Month 💗🎀

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness about the importance of early detection for both humans and our beloved pets! 🩷🐾

🎀 For Humans: Knowing your body and recognizing changes is important. Watch for new lumps in the breast or underarm, changes in breast size or shape, skin or ni**le changes, or unusual discharge. Talk with your healthcare provider about any concerns and recommended screenings.

🐾 For Pets: Dogs and cats can develop mammary tumors, especially unspayed females. Keep an eye out for new lumps, swelling, redness, irritation, or changes around the mammary glands. Not every lump is cancerous, but any new or changing lump should be checked by a veterinarian.

💗 Know the signs. Notice the changes. Don't ignore a new lump. Early evaluation can make a difference for you and your furry family members!

From all of us at Horse Heaven Hills Pet Urgent Care, we're sending love and support to everyone affected by cancer. 🐶🐱🩷

🐾❤️ PET OF THE WEEK: LYСAN! ❤️🐾

Meet Lycan, a 3-year-old Australian Shepherd Mix! He found his forever family when he was adopted from the animal shelter this past August, and he’s been filling their home with love and plenty of personality ever since. 🥹❤️

Lycan’s favorite things are lovies, walks and runs, sleeping, playing outside, and sneaking leftovers off the counter when Mom and Dad aren’t paying attention! 👀😂

He has some pretty adorable quirks, too. When Lycan looks at you, he tilts his head and makes his eyes bigger, giving major Wile E. Coyote vibes with those floppy ears! He also crosses his front legs when he sits like a true gentleman. And when the family parks the car, he skips waiting for the back door to open and jumps straight into the front seat! 🚗🐾

Most of all, Lycan is loving and caring. His family says they feel like he chose them just as much as they chose him. When they come home, he puts his paws on their chest for a big “Welcome home!” hug. ❤️

He’s also settling in wonderfully with his sister, Winifred, and his little brother, Boba Fett, the family’s rescue kitten. 🐱

🐾 Parasite prevention isn’t just for summertime! 🦟🪱

Here in the Tri-Cities, parasites can be a year-round concern. Even indoor-only pets can be exposed! Fleas and ticks can come inside on people or other pets, mosquitoes can enter your home, and intestinal parasites can come from contaminated environments.

🦟 Heartworm: Spread by mosquitoes and can cause serious, potentially life-threatening heart and lung disease.

🐜 Fleas: Can cause itching, skin irritation, hair loss, allergic reactions, anemia, and can transmit tapeworms.

🕷️ Ticks: Can cause irritation and blood loss and can transmit diseases such as Lyme disease, anaplasmosis, and ehrlichiosis.

🪱 Intestinal parasites: Roundworms and hookworms can cause vomiting, diarrhea, weight loss, anemia, and other health problems. Some can also affect people.

✨ How can you protect your pet? ✨

🐶 Dogs: We carry Simparica Trio, a monthly chewable protecting against fleas, ticks, heartworm, roundworms, and hookworms.

🐱 Cats: We carry Revolution Plus, a monthly topical protecting against fleas, ticks, heartworm, ear mites, roundworms, and hookworms.

💙 Talk with your veterinarian about the right year-round prevention for your pet!

As Su***de Awareness Month comes to a close, the conversation doesn’t have to. 💜🩵

This month, we’ve talked about su***de within veterinary medicine, but this message is for everyone. The doctors, technicians, assistants, receptionists, kennel teams, pet parents, friends, families, and every person fighting a battle others may never see.

Sometimes, you may not know what someone is going through. A simple “How are you really doing?”, a phone call, a kind word, or taking the time to truly listen can mean more than you realize.

Keep checking in. Keep listening. Keep choosing kindness. And never be afraid to ask for help yourself. 🐾

You don’t have to have all the answers, and you don’t have to go through difficult moments alone. You matter. Your life matters. There is hope, and there is help.

In Washington, call or text 988 anytime for free, confidential crisis support.

Su***de Awareness Month may come to an end, but looking out for one another shouldn’t. Let’s continue creating spaces where people feel safe to speak up, ask for help, and know that someone cares. 💜

H3 Pets of the Week: Carmine, Mother & Curtis! 💕🐾

This week, we’re featuring three housemates, each with their own personality and a little bit of chaos! Carmine, Mother, and Curtis have all visited us recently for wellness exams and vaccines, and we’re excited to introduce this trio!🐱🐱🐱

🖤🤍 Carmine - 14 years old
Our handsome tuxedo boy loves flopping down for pets and cuddling up in soft, cozy blankets. 🥰

🩶 Mother - 5 years old
Our beautiful grey tabby enjoys treats, naps, and getting her hair brushed. 😴✨

🧡 Curtis - 20 weeks old
This little orange tabby definitely keeps everyone on their toes! He loves playing with his stuffed Pop-Tart and mouse, cuddling on your chest, and causing as much trouble as he can. 😂🐾

Curtis has quite the rescue story! At just 6 weeks old, he was found in the engine of a vehicle by family friends. They couldn’t keep him, so he found his forever home - and he has fit right in ever since! ❤️

Three different personalities, one happy household, and lots of love (and probably a little mischief)! 🐾💕

Thank you to their family for letting us feature these three wonderful kitties as our H3 Pets of the Week! 🐱💗

Keeping your indoor cat happy and entertained!🐱🏠

As the seasons change and we start spending a little more time indoors, it's a great opportunity to give your cat some extra enrichment! Cats need more than just food and a cozy place to sleep — they also need opportunities to play, explore, climb, scratch, and use their natural instincts. 🐾

Try adding some of these activities to your cat's routine:
🧶 Interactive toys — Wand toys and toys that encourage chasing can help satisfy their hunting instincts.
🧩 Puzzle feeders — Turn mealtime into a fun activity that gets your cat thinking and working for their food.
🪟 Window perches — Give your cat a safe place to watch birds, squirrels, and the world outside.
🌳 Cat trees & climbing spaces — Cats love being able to climb and observe their surroundings from up high.
📦 Boxes & hiding spots — Sometimes the simplest things provide the most entertainment!
⏰ Daily playtime — Even a few minutes of interactive play each day can make a big difference.

A happy cat is a busy cat! 😸💙 What is your cat's favorite way to play?

💙🐾 Meet Blue, Pet of the Week!🐾💙

This adorable 13-week-old mixed-breed puppy came to H3PUC this week to establish care and have his very first puppy exam! 🩺🐶

Blue received his first DAPP+L vaccine and will be back in a few weeks for his final DAPP+L and Rabies vaccines. 💉

Blue’s family brought him home on Labor Day, and they knew he was a little different from his siblings. Now he has a new big sister, Shera, and is settling right in! ❤️

According to his family, Blue loves to cuddle, sleep, eat, and play. He has plenty of toys to keep him busy during chomp time, and he’s already doing so well learning to potty outside and getting comfortable with crate time. 🥹🐾

His family says they think he’s so smart and absolutely adorable… and we have to agree! 💙

Keep growing, learning, and being your adorable puppy self, Blue! 🐶💙
