Beckham met Slugger The Sea Dog from the Sea Dogs baseball team at the Pooch Parade last weekend in Kennebunkport - what a thrill! He inherited his love of baseball from his dad, Smudge, and had a Portland Sea Dogs themed 4th birthday party this year. Thanks to Cliff Gajtkowski for the amazing picture.

My Westie, Beckham, and I have found the perfect gift for our dog-lover friends -- Dog-Opoly, which is a super fun board game that is all about dogs. We are also planning a board game party over the holidays for our friends with fabulous food and cocktails and a hotly contested game of Westie-Opoly.

My Westie and I are planning a Yappy Hour Party at our favorite brewery on the local Beer Trail. Beer Flights, Bacon Burger Pup Treats, Sausage Cheddar Biscuits for Pup Parents, and a “beer-chugging contest” for the Pups with beer-themed prizes.

My dog and I attended the Blessing of the Animals service at St. Ann's Episcopal church in Kennebunkport. A sunny Saturday morning, a huge crowd of Pups and Pup Parents, and a special service to celebrate very special family members. Beckham and I continued the celebration with brunch featuring Dog Raspberry Scones and Raspberry Lime Bellinis.

My dog and I go for a walk every weekend. He likes to walk on the beach, and I prefer to walk along Ocean Avenue, but both have beautiful views of the ocean and rocky Maine coast. We compromise by doing one walk on Saturday and the other on Sunday, depending on the tides.

We take along food and drink and make a stop during our walk to have a Muffin Party. Dog-friendly blueberry muffins for Beckham and water, while I have blueberry muffins and Lemon Blueberry Spritzers. Recipes included in our latest Party Blog.

Weekend walks with my dog are priceless.
