🐾❤️ OFF TO NEW ADVENTURES! ❤️🐾

August was a month full of big changes, happy endings, and bittersweet goodbyes. 🥹 These sweet pups set off in August on their new adventures, and while our hearts are a little heavier seeing them leave, they are also SO full knowing they are headed toward brighter futures. 🏡🐾

Saying goodbye is never easy. We love these dogs, we learn their personalities, watch them grow, celebrate their little victories, and become completely attached to them. So when it’s time for them to leave, there are definitely some tears. 💔

But that’s what we hope for every single dog who comes through our doors — a chance to move forward, a family to love them, and a life beyond the kennel. ❤️

To each of these pups: we hope your new adventures are filled with endless love, soft beds, full bellies, zoomies, treats, and people who remind you every day just how special you are. 🐶✨

You may have left our care, but you will never leave our hearts. ❤️

Go live your best lives, sweet babies. We’ll always be cheering you on from here. 🥹🐾

🚨 𝗪𝗘’𝗥𝗘 𝗚𝗢𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗢 𝗕𝗘 𝗕𝗟𝗨𝗡𝗧 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗛𝗢𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗧. 🚨

We spend our days answering calls, messages, emails and pleas for help from people who have nowhere else to turn. 𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗗𝗔𝗬. 𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗬 𝗗𝗔𝗬.

A dog is sitting in the pound and running out of time.
A dog has been dumped.
A dog is sick or injured.
Someone needs help because they can’t keep their dog.

And every time, we have to ask ourselves: 𝗖𝗔𝗡 𝗪𝗘 𝗧𝗔𝗞𝗘 𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗘?

We want the answer to be YES. We want to keep pulling dogs from the pound before they are euthanized. We want to keep saying yes to the dogs who have nobody else.

But the reality is simple: 𝗦𝗔𝗩𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗗𝗢𝗚𝗦 𝗖𝗢𝗦𝗧𝗦 𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗘𝗬.

Our Crawfish Cooker fundraiser has had 𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗬 𝗟𝗢𝗪 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗜𝗣𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡. If we don’t sell the remaining spots, 𝗪𝗘 𝗪𝗜𝗟𝗟 𝗛𝗔𝗩𝗘 𝗧𝗢 𝗖𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗟 𝗜𝗧.

These fundraisers aren’t about making extra money. They help pay for the things our dogs need every single month:

There’s nothing better than getting updates from adopters and seeing our pups living their BEST lives! 🥹❤️

These are the moments that make all the long days, hard work, sleepless nights, and endless cleaning worth it. From shelter pups to spoiled family members — THIS is what second chances look like! 🐶🏡✨

We absolutely LOVE when adopters send us pictures, videos, and updates. It lets us know that the pups we loved, cared for, and fought for are exactly where they belong. ❤️

July was another incredible month of giving dogs the second chance they deserve. ❤️🐾

During the month of July, 26 pups left our rescue for brighter futures! 24 found loving new homes or rescue transfers, and 2 were reunited with their owners—the best kind of happy ending.

Every dog that leaves our care represents a life changed. Whether it’s through adoption, rescue, or a joyful reunion with their family, these moments remind us why we do what we do.

We couldn’t accomplish this without our amazing adopters, fosters, transporters, donors, and those who support Karnes County Humane Organization. Your kindness and generosity make these second chances possible.

While we celebrate these victories, our work continues as more animals arrive needing help every week. Thank you for standing with us and believing that every life matters.
