I got a chance to talk with Kaitlin this morning when she brought Joel in for his check up.
I asked her about the boxer pitbull mix that was abandoned at Bixler Lake this week. She had good news to report that they do have him safely at the shelter and there is a list of people wanting to adopt him! So that’s great news.

At the same time… She let me know that they are 50% over capacity in both cats and dogs so if there’s anyone at all considering adopting… It would be awesome! Sounds like the selection is pretty good! Ha ha ha

They’re back!! Can’t remember how many years it’s been but the Vermont H. S. Rodeo team has used us as a layover on their way to the national finals for quite awhile!! This year they are headed to Nebraska.

A New Jersey HS rodeo competitor stayed last night and another New Jersey rig is scheduled for tomorrow night.

Emergency call this afternoon …
Buggy horse is trapped on the railroad… she was in harness but no buggy, had spooked and ran down the middle of the tracks until the tracks went over a bridge / trestle where there was space between ties and her back legs slipped through!!! … (all train traffic was suspended). RVT Ann was the only one who could go to “sedate” (in the entire county apparently!?)
Thankfully after almost 2 hours the horse was able to free herself without sedation….
What a great team of noble county and ligonier emergency responders.
