If you’re looking for a safe, flashy, dependable horse that anyone can enjoy, Pepper is your guy.
Pepper is an 11-year-old palomino gelding with a calm, honest disposition. He recently was ridden by a 4 yr old on the barrels and poles. He was previously owned by an older lady and used as both her and her grandkids’ barrel/playday/grand entry flag horse. I personally have taken him to a few local barrel races where he clocked a 3D time without being pushed and mistakes. He has also been ranched on across East Texas by a 70 year old cowboy, proving to be a reliable partner for everyday ranch work.
My very beginner boyfriend has ridden Pepper for hours through the woods and across 300+ acres checking and pushing cattle with complete confidence. He’s the kind of horse you can saddle up and go, whether he’s been ridden yesterday or has had weeks off. Time off doesn’t bother him he stays the same dependable horse every ride.
Pepper does good in a pen with other horses, he’s easy to load, shoe, wash etc. He’s the horse you can catch in a hurry and never have to worry about.
Pepper was originally AQHA registered, but unfortunately his previous owner misplaced his papers. The only option I’ve found to recover them is AQHA’s Unknown Horse DNA Test, which costs approximately $100 and requires submitting a hair sample. While AQHA does not guarantee the horse will be found in their database, it is an option for anyone interested in pursuing his papers. Since he’s a gelding, I haven’t found it necessary to do the process myself.
