Please help us give a warm welcome to Nora, our newest student in the Hendricks Kennels Obedience Program! 🎉

Over the next several weeks, Nora will be working one-on-one with Mario as she learns the foundations of good manners and reliable obedience. Please join us in giving a warm Hendricks Kennels welcome to this sweet girl, Dolly! 💛 She's officially enrolled in our Obedience Training Program, and we can't wait to watch her grow over the coming weeks.

🐾👀 Learning by Watching 👀🐾

Did you know that one of the best ways for a new dog to build confidence is by watching an experienced dog work?

Today, Remi got a front-row seat to observe Gus during his obedience training. While it may look like she's simply watching, there's actually a lot of learning happening! 🐶

Dogs naturally learn from one another. Watching another dog confidently perform commands, stay focused, and work through distractions can help newer dogs understand expectations and build confidence in a training environment.

For Remi, this is a great opportunity to:
🐾 Become comfortable with the training routine
🐾 Learn to stay calm around other dogs
🐾 Build focus and patience
🐾 Gain confidence before jumping into new skills herself

Meanwhile, Gus is continuing to make great progress in his obedience program and is setting an excellent example for his new friend. This distraction of having another dog there also refines his obedience skills. 👏

Every dog learns at their own pace, and sometimes one of the most valuable lessons starts with simply sitting back and watching. 🐕❤️

🐾 Welcome Rooney! 🐾

Everyone give a warm welcome to Rooney! 💕 This sweet girl is joining us for our Basic Obedience Program and is ready to trade a few mischievous habits for some polished manners.

Rooney will be working with Mario until the early part of August, where they'll focus on building confidence, structure, and better everyday behaviors both at home and out in public.

During her stay, Rooney will be working on:

🐾 Keeping those playful puppy teeth to herself (less playful biting!)
🦴 Learning that toys are for chewing… not household items!
🙌 Practicing keeping all four paws on the ground instead of jumping on people
🎓 Building a strong obedience foundation and learning how to make great choices

She's already bringing plenty of personality, and we can't wait to watch her grow over the next several weeks. With consistency, patience, and a lot of fun along the way, Rooney will be on her way to becoming an even better family companion. ❤️

🐾 Welcome Gunner! 🐾

Everyone join us in giving a big Hendricks Kennels welcome to Gunner! 👏🐶

Gunner has already been training with us for 2 weeks and is off to a great start! Over the coming weeks, he'll be working on our obedience program, where he'll build a strong foundation with essential commands and manners.

He'll also be getting an introduction to our Retriever Program, which is designed to prepare dogs for bird hunting and retrieval both on land and in the water. 🦆💦 From developing retrieving skills to building confidence in different environments, Gunner has an exciting journey ahead of him!

We can't wait to watch him grow, learn, and develop into a well-rounded hunting companion and family dog. Stay tuned for updates on his progress! 🐾🎉
