Everyone meet Eva 🐾

Today was Eva’s very first day in our Retriever Program with Ronnie, and we’re excited to have her here! She’s starting her journey learning both obedience and retriever fundamentals, and we can already tell she’s going to be a fun one to work with.

Throughout the program, Eva will be working on obedience commands like here, heel, sit, no, and place, along with retriever skills such as hold, drop, and fetch.

One thing we love about our retriever program is the amount of time the dogs get to truly soak everything in. Training isn’t just repetition — it’s giving them the opportunity to learn, process, and build confidence through consistency and daily exposure.

We also believe owners are a huge part of the process because at the end of the day:
“You do best what you do most.”

We can’t wait to watch Eva grow and see her progress over the next few months. Stay tuned for updates on this sweet girl! 🐶🦆

🐾 Meet Vlad! 🐾

Vlad has officially entered our obedience program here at Hendricks Kennels and is already getting started the right way — building a strong bond with Edgar during these early days of training.

This bonding phase is one of the most important parts of the process. Trust, communication, and connection between dog and trainer lay the foundation for effective obedience and long-term success. 💪🐶

Training isn’t just about commands and structure — playful engagement is just as essential! From tug sessions to exploring the facility on walks, giving dogs time to simply be dogs, enjoy life, and have fun helps create confidence, balance, and a stronger relationship with their trainer.

Vlad is already settling in, loving the attention, and showing us his playful personality. We’re excited to watch his progress and share his journey along the way! 🐾

🐾 Banks is in the Home Stretch! 🐾

Meet Banks — this handsome guy has been putting in the work with Edgar here at Hendricks Kennels, and he is officially ONLY TWO WEEKS AWAY FROM GRADUATION! 🎓

The final two weeks of training are some of the most important. This is where we focus on reinforcing all the commands Banks has learned, building consistency, and fine-tuning his obedience skills to make sure everything becomes second nature. From reliability to confidence, this stage is all about polishing up the hard work he’s already put in!

We’re so proud of Banks and can’t wait to see him finish strong. Keep up the great work, buddy — graduation day is right around the corner! 🧡🐾

Protect your pup before snake season peaks! Join us on August 22, 2026, for our Desnaking Event at Hendricks Kennels.

A snake avoidance clinic is a specialized training session designed to teach dogs to recognize and avoid venomous snakes, helping protect them from potentially deadly bites. This training can be a lifesaver for dogs who spend time outdoors, on trails, ranches, or even in their own backyard.

Murphy has worked hard, learned so much, and is heading home with the skills to be the best boy! From mastering obedience to building confidence, he has made incredible progress during his training journey. 🐶✨

A big shoutout to Edgar, Murphy’s trainer, for the time, patience, and dedication he put into helping Murphy succeed. The bond built during training plays such an important role in setting our dogs up for long-term success, and Murphy rose to the occasion every step of the way!

🐾 Meet Atlas! 🐾

Atlas has been putting in the work with Edgar during his obedience training here at Hendricks Kennels, and now it’s time for an important milestone — his weekend visit home! 🐶🏡

This step in the training process gives Atlas the opportunity to practice all the commands he’s learned in his everyday environment with his family. It’s also a chance for his owners to build confidence using the training techniques and tools they’ve been taught — without the trainer right beside them.

One of the biggest parts of successful dog training is consistency at home. Many dogs will test boundaries once they return to familiar surroundings, and that’s completely normal! The key is for owners to confidently reinforce the structure, expectations, and commands their dog has been learning. With patience, repetition, and consistency, dogs like Atlas continue to grow into well-mannered, reliable companions. 💪🐕

We’re proud of the progress Atlas has made so far and can’t wait to see him continue succeeding both at home and here at Hendricks Kennels!

🐾 Meet Cooper! 🐾

Cooper has been working hard with Ronnie for the past month and has made amazing progress in his training! 🌟 Next up? He’s moving into the second phase, where we’ll be introducing an e-collar to reinforce all the commands he’s been learning.

With this tool, Cooper’s future walks will be even more fun and safe—owners can enjoy off-leash adventures without worrying about losing control, all while continuing to strengthen their bond. 🐶💛

We’re so proud of Cooper’s dedication and can’t wait to see him master this next step!
