Feel Good Friday: A family spay/neuter day!!!

Momma, puppies, AND dad all came in together for a family spay/neuter day! And as you can see, mom and dad were pretty excited about the whole ordeal. 😂 No more surprise additions to this family!

A big thank you to their owners for getting the whole crew taken care of. We love seeing an entire family head home with healthier futures AND with no more litters on the horizon!

If your pet needs vaccines, take a look at our Top Dog and Top Cat bundles! You can get a lot more for your money.

Instead of paying for vaccines, a microchip, and prevention separately, these bundles put everything your pet needs for the year in a price that you cant beat!

🐕 Top Dog starts at $200 and includes ALL necessary vaccines (Rabies, distemper/parvo + leptospirosis, and Bordetella), a heartworm test, a microchip, an entire YEAR of heartworm prevention (a 1 time injection called Proheart), and either 6 or 8 months of flea/tick prevention, depending on the product you choose.

🐈 Top Cat starts at $130 and includes all necessary vaccines (Rabies and FVRCP), a microchip, and 6 months of heartworm/flea prevention.

And we want people to know: you don’t have to need financial assistance to bring your pets to PRC! We are here for ALL pet owners!

These purchases help keep us running. When you buy a bundle for your own pet, you’re also helping us provide care for the next person in line who might be struggling financially. Choosing us is a pretty simple way to take care of your pet AND help someone else take care of theirs!

Is your dog unspayed? This could happen to her, too.

Last week, TWO dogs from two different households came to our Urgent Care with the same life-threatening infection: pyometra.

Jenny is just 6 years old, and Roxy is 4. Both had severely infected, pus-filled uteruses, and both felt incredibly sick from the infection. Their families were scared for their girls and so thankful our team saved them.

Pyometra isn’t some strange, rare illness you’ll never have to worry about. We see it almost weekly, and Roxy and Jenny are two reminders that if your female dog or cat is unspayed, she is at risk.

We’re grateful we could be there for these girls and their families. But we also want more owners to know that spaying can prevent this emergency. It does more than prevent unwanted litters, it can protect your pet from a painful, potentially deadly uterine infection.

Please don’t wait until your girl is sick. If cost has kept you from scheduling her spay, please consider scheduling an appoitment so we can help. Appointments can be on our website at prckc.org or email us at [email protected].

WE HAVE THE OFFICIAL COUNT!!!

After days of donations pouring in, we have FINALLY counted and weighed every last bag and can of cat food you all donated to our pet food pantry.

And the final numbers are absolutely INSANE!!!
🐈 3,234.15 POUNDS of dry cat food!
🐈 250.16 POUNDS of wet cat food!

THAT'S A TOTAL OF 3,484.31 POUNDS OF CAT FOOD!!!

To put that into perspective, that's ROUGHLY 27,000 MEALS for cats in need!!!

Nearly 3,500 pounds of cat food donated by this incredible community in response to ONE post asking for help.

We went from having completely empty shelves to having more cat food than we could have ever imagined. And every single pound of it will go right back into our community to help families keep their cats fed and at home where they belong.

We know we've said thank you already, but we really cannot say it enough. The response to our plea for help has been unlike anything we expected, and we are still trying to wrap our heads around it.

From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU, KC! We are so incredibly grateful for you. 💙
