THIS SUNDAY, we’re taking over CityDogs Downtown KC Dog Park for Frenchie Sunday Funday—and since KCTV5 is coming out, we need our Frenchie family to SHOW UP and show them just how much Chiefs Kingdom pride our pups can bring! ❤️💛

Before we decide your dog has officially rejected the Boujee lifestyle…

We have questions. 😂

Because sometimes the problem isn't actually the accessory.

It may be the fit.

The weight.

Where it's sitting.

How quickly it was introduced.

Or simply the fact that your dog has absolutely NO IDEA why you just put this strange new object around their neck and would like to speak with management immediately. 😂

Dogs don't understand:

“But BABY, LOOK HOW CUTE YOU ARE!”

They understand how something feels.

So if accessories are new for your dog, we would much rather you start slowly than put something on them and expect an instant Instagram photoshoot.

Let them investigate it.

Choose something appropriate for their size.

Try it briefly.

Keep the experience positive.

And most importantly?

PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR DOG.

If they're pawing at it, trying to remove it, freezing, behaving unusually or clearly uncomfortable…

Take it off.

Because here's something you probably don't expect the person SELLING dog necklaces to tell you:

Some dogs simply don't enjoy wearing accessories.

And that's okay.

We don't believe every dog needs a necklace.

We don't believe looking adorable is more important than being comfortable.

And we definitely don't want someone forcing their dog to wear something just because it photographs well.

🐾✨ WE'RE BASICALLY A PERSONAL STYLIST FOR CLIENTS WHO REFUSE TO ANSWER ANY OF OUR QUESTIONS.

No opinions on color.

No Pinterest board.

No explanation of their personal aesthetic.

They mostly just stare at us.

Sometimes they lick themselves during the consultation.

Very unprofessional clientele, honestly. 😂

But when we are choosing a dog necklace, we're not simply looking at a pile of pretty beads and thinking:
“Oooooh. Those are cute together.”

Okay…
Sometimes we do that too. 😂

But the DOG is always part of the equation.

First, we look at their coloring + build.
What colors are going to pop against their coat? What scale makes sense for their size? Do we want contrast or something that blends beautifully with their coloring?

Then comes our favorite part:
WHO IS THIS DOG?
Because there is a BIG difference between:
🐾 sweet little angel who just wants to cuddle
and
💅 neighborhood HOA president who has been monitoring your trash cans since 6 AM.
Those dogs require different accessories. 😂

Then we think about the occasion or theme.
Everyday?
Game day?
Birthday?
Holiday?
Special event?
Or are we simply dressing up to sit on the couch and judge the neighbors?
Also a valid occasion.

THEN we start putting together the bead combination—playing with color, size, texture, finishes + all those little details until it feels right.

Because the goal isn't simply:
MAKE A CUTE NECKLACE.

It's:
MAKE A CUTE NECKLACE THAT LOOKS LIKE IT BELONGS TO THAT DOG.
That's the difference.

Your dog already has the personality.

“She's a Frenchie” is not a measurement. 😂

Neither is:
“She's pretty small.”
“He's a chunky Pug.”
“She's about 25 pounds.”

Or our personal favorite category of measurement:
“You know…normal Bulldog size.” 😂

Here's the problem:
There really isn't one.
Two dogs of the same breed and similar weight can have completely different neck measurements.
One Frenchie may have a tiny little neck.
Another may be walking around with approximately 14 pounds of shoulders, neck rolls and audacity. 😂

And when you're ordering a dog necklace, that difference matters.

We want the necklace to sit where it's supposed to sit and look proportionate to YOUR dog—not an imaginary average version of their breed.

So before you order:
📏 Grab a soft measuring tape.
🐾 Measure around your dog's neck where you'd like the necklace to sit.
✋ Keep it comfortably against them rather than pulling it tight.
📝 Write down the measurement.

No soft measuring tape? Use a piece of string, then lay the string against a ruler or regular measuring tape.

And here's one more important thing:
Don't automatically measure their existing collar and use that number.

Collars and necklaces may sit differently, and what I really want to know is the measurement of your dog's neck where the necklace will actually sit.

It takes maybe 30 seconds.

But it helps take the guesswork out of choosing the right size—and gets us much closer to:
“OMG. THAT LOOKS LIKE IT WAS MADE FOR HER.” ✨🐾

Which is exactly what we're going for.

APPARENTLY BB HAS BEEN LIVING SEVEN DIFFERENT LIVES AND NONE OF US WERE CONSULTED. 😂🐾

According to the people in her life…

Mom sees her as the BABY. 🎀
Dad sees a STARVING bulldog in need of endless snacks. 😇
The boys at Frenchie Sunday Funday see WIFE MATERIAL. 👰‍♀️😂
The vet sees a RECURRING REVENUE STREAM. 💸
Her baby brother sees a GIANT CHEW TOY. 😬
Her boss sees a hardworking CEO with TWO businesses to run. 💻☕️

And then there’s reality…

Just BB.

Standing on the furniture.

Wearing her Boujee Beads.

Tongue out.

Absolutely convinced that everyone else exists to serve her. 😂

And you know what?

THEY KIND OF DO.

Because somehow this Bulldog has managed to be simultaneously:

🎀 The baby
👰‍♀️ The eligible bachelorette
💸 A financial liability
🦴 Fergus’ favorite target
💼 A small-business executive
👑 And the undisputed ruler of this household

Honestly, the only inaccurate slide might be “how I look in real life.”

Because BB would like it formally documented that she ALWAYS looks like a princess and NEVER looks like a potato. 😂

Also…can we appreciate that through EVERY version of herself, Miss BB kept the bling on?

Priorities. 💅🐾
