🎨 Join Us for First Friday – May 1st! 🎨

Join us for another fun, First Friday event! We’re excited to be part of Buttonwood Art Space’s current exhibition, Patterns & Perspectives!

This inspiring show explores how repetition, rhythm, and shifting perspectives shape the way we see the world. From bold geometry to expressive storytelling, each piece offers a unique lens—reminding us that perspective matters in art, in life, and even in how we care for our furry friends every day. 💛🐾

Even more meaningful, proceeds from the exhibition support Pathway to Hope, helping provide resources and education for individuals and families navigating mental health challenges in our community.

If you’re out enjoying First Friday, stop by the clinic to say hi, experience the creativity, and support a cause that truly makes a difference. We love being part of a community that shows up for both the arts and one another.

✨ We hope to see you there! Take home a goodie bag for you and your fur baby!

Hello from Union Hill Animal Hospital!

We have had some wild temperature swings and this weekend is going to be hot!! Unfortunately, this is prime HEAT STROKE weather. We have some safety tips to help you and your fur babies stay safe during this warm up!

1. Please remember that concrete and asphalt can get very hot very quickly and will cause pad burns. Aim for the shaded side of the street if possible. If it's too hot for us, it's too hot for them.

2. Make sure and keep an eye on your fur baby while outside, always making sure their adorable slobbery tongue is pink and they can breathe easily. If you have a short-nosed baby (like a Pug, Frenchie, Bulldog), they can literally play until they cannot breathe!

3. Even on 70 degree days it's a good idea to not leave your pet in the car. Even with cracked windows, it can get steamy in there pretty quick!

4. If you must be outside for any length of time, shade & water are critical!

What if my pet becomes overheated?

If your pet isn't able to catch their breath, doesn't feel like getting up, or they vomit it's time to give us a call. We can walk you through emergency situations. While you can put lukewarm water on a fur baby that is overheated, please do not use ice to cool them down.

If it's after hours, please call BluePearl Emergency in Overland Park (913-642-9563) or Mission Veterinary Emergency (913-722-5566).
