Check the Chip Day was August 15, but this two-minute task is worth doing anytime-especially after a move, new phone number, adoption, or change in emergency contact.
Find your pet's microchip number in the adoption or medical records. If you do not know which company holds the registration, AAHA's free Microchip Registry Lookup Tool can point you to the registry. Then confirm your phone, email, address, and alternate contact. If you cannot find the number, ask a veterinary hospital or shelter about scanning your pet.

Before a procedure, ask why anesthesia is needed, how your pet's health affects the plan, what monitoring will be used, and what recovery may look like. Share previous anesthesia experiences, current medications, supplements, and recent health changes. The result is interesting-but it deserves context. The score combines 23 measures, and Axios notes that it counts Kansas City proper rather than the full two-state metro. KC placed especially well for pet budget, while a broader "health and wellness" category pulled the score down.
A spreadsheet cannot see every neighborhood trail, rescue volunteer, veterinary team, pet-friendly patio, or person who always carries an extra water bowl. So we want the local version of the story: what makes the Kansas City area feel pet-friendly to you? And what would make it better?

If you are concerned your pets are getting over heated take them into the air conditioning as soon as possible. If you do a cold bath do not try to do really cold water. You want to cool them off slowly.

For a pet to get used to a new protocol it is important to continue to be consistent for minimum of 12 weeks. When brushing teeth please use Canine only toothpaste and soft bristle toothbrushes. If brushing your pet's teeth is not an option please do not hesitate to discuss with us additional recommendations for prevention of dental plaque formation and dental disease for your pets.
