Pickle took a break from his security duties to assist with reception! While his help is always appreciated, removing keys from the keyboard makes scheduling appointments a bit difficult. I think we’ll let him stick to security and supervising the assistants!

Until advised otherwise, we encourage our clients and community members who are impacted to boil water for not only themselves, but their pets as well. We want to make sure all our feathered, furred, and scaled friends stay safe and healthy!

Kannapolis Water Resources Department crews have determined contaminants that carry E Coli bacteria were found in the drinking water of the City. The City’s processes of cleaning and treating our drinking water should have eliminated these contaminants with no detrimental issues for the public.

However, per North Carolina regulations we are informing you that the contaminants were found and we are flushing and treating all city water to further ensure the contaminants are eliminated.

This is believed to be a temporary issue and tests will be done within 24 hours to ensure the water is free of contaminants.

In an abundance of caution, the City recommends all city water customers boil all water used for human consumption (including water used for drinking, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation) or use bottled water until further notice. We anticipate that the advisory will be lifted within 24 hours. We will distribute a notice when it is safe to stop boiling water.

Vigorous boiling for one (1) minute will kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present in the water.

Kannapolis residents will be able to receive bottles of water today at the Kannapolis Fire Department Logistics Building located at 933 Floyd Street.

To help keep traffic flowing smoothly, please approach Floyd Street from Jackson Street when arriving.

E. coli are bacteria whose presence indicates that the water may be contaminated with human or animal wastes. Human pathogens in these wastes can cause short-term effects, such as diarrhea, cramps, nausea, headaches, or other symptoms. They may pose a greater health risk for infants, young children, the elderly, and people with severely compromised immune systems.

If you have any questions, please call the City of Kannapolis at 704.920.4444.

Based on several factors, including concern for road conditions, we will be closed tomorrow, Monday February 2, 2026. We have contacted and rescheduled or canceled all appointments tomorrow and apologize for any inconvenience.
We are hoping to be open Tuesday, but will make this decision on current road and weather conditions. I hope everyone is safe and warm (and got to play in the wonderfully soft snow!) - thank you for being a part of our GriffinExotics family.

We agree with our friends and colleagues at SEAVS - and would like to extend our support for tomorrow's events, and thank our clients and community for understanding why we will be open to care for our patients.

💙 In Solidarity, With Care from SEAVS
As many of you know, tomorrow is the national “Shut Out ICE” Nationwide Economic Shutdown.
We stand firmly with the movement’s message: every single person in the United States deserves to be treated with dignity, fairness, and humanity.

As a veterinary practice, we will remain open tomorrow. Our patients rely on us for essential medical care, and their well‑being can’t be paused. But our doors staying open does not mean our support is any less strong.

We stand with our community.
We stand with those calling for justice.
We stand for a country where everyone is treated fairly.

Thank you for understanding and thank you for being part of a community that cares — for animals and for people.

We will be back open for regular hours on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 after being closed today. Although the storm wasn't nearly as bad as predicted, we were unable to be open today. If you have an appointment tomorrow (or later this week), we should be able to see you at your scheduled time. Please call us at 704 932-8111 during business hours to speak to one of our team members.
We hope that everyone has stayed safe and warm (and with power!) over this stormy weekend.
