My boy Roly *may* 🤞🏻 have a new family up in WI so let's see if we can find a home for his buddy as well.
Bluey is my next boy looking for an off the track home. Like his friend Roly, he's got a case of the slows. He's 4 years old and has a good western foundation with 3 months on the track. I literally went and got him from the track one day and took him to a sorting and rode him around the cows and he was so chill about it and super interested in the cows. He's just a bit anxious when you first get on- nothing dangerous, just a little more green than his brother. Another family horse prospect but if I kept him id do some sorting/roping/barrels. He's more stout than Roly. Asking $3500 as well for this good boy.

Going to share this here, even though most of my friends are in WI and im down in IL, looking for the special home for one of our thoroughbreds Louie and I trained. Roll Em Up is named for one of Louie's cute broken English sayings...
Roly is gentle and quiet! Two things that dont make a good race horse. He is 4 years old, has been trained in western tack and just came home from the racetrack. He is so calm I wouldn't hesitate to take him right out and trail ride. He's got a big floaty trot and easy canter. His legs are clean, he's sound, no injuries, no craziness. Stands well for the farrier, stands tied, loads right in a trailer, quiet in his stall but tends to crib. Prefers to be in a small herd turnout. Definitely has kids horse potential. Located in Jerseyville IL 3️⃣5️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ has current coggins, 6 way and JC papers to transfer.

Not so long ago, there was this horse who lit a fire inside me and stirred up the comfortable world I had made. I built my world around the horses and now it's time to take another leap of faith. J Squared Farm is moving this summer so I can be closer to the racetrack to train my thoroughbreds. Thank you to the many Wisconsin clients who have become my friends and who have brought out the best in me these years ❤️

BFR Jessie's Girl 7 year old AQHA FQHR registered mare standing 14.2hh. "Blondie" as I've called her (after her mom, Blondys Dandelion) has been with me since she was a yearling. She's what foundation horses are all about- versatile, personable, willing to please and has a good work ethic. Blondie has been all over the trails, as I mostly broke her out taking her camping, swimming and putting miles on. She has been my second sorting and penning horse and she ropes and drags cattle. She rides out alone and is well adjusted to most things you could encounter. She is soft in the bridle and has a nice little jog, she could go showing even. Blondie scraped her inside hock when she was younger and for that reason, I have not pushed her to be competitive in her early years. I keep hesitating to put her first and push her harder to be a competitive roping horse, I just don't feel it's right for her. There is someone out there who can enjoy the best of her and so she is lightly posted with hopes of finding someone who likes a horse that will work but has a sound mind and settles into her job quickly. She's not for timid people or those who do not give their horse good and fair direction. You can meet Blondie at J Squared Farm in Almond Wi

Thank you everyone who has been understanding since I have gone back to being a one-woman show here at the farm. Especially to Susan who's come by to help with chores since I've been sick with covid this week. Anyone keeping a count down to spring yet? 🤒

With my partner, both in life and horses, passing away tragically earlier this month, I've had to make some hard decisions because I can't do this all on my own without him. I have availble some super cool prospects that we've acquired together.
Muchomillied Dorado- cute little 2 year old MN bred TB filly. She's puppy dog gentle and has some growing to do! She's started on the ground but we planned to let her grow until 3. She stands a slender 14.2hh. I would be just as happy to see her in a non-racing home. She's a cribber, got her from the breeder like that. Wears a preventative muzzle without a fuss. No injuries, blank slate with a kind demeanor. Got bathed, trimmed and dewormed on this nice warm day.
Speedy G- got him this spring and raced him a couple of times but realized he's not interested in competing. That's okay, he doesn't need to be a racehorse anymore- non racing home only. Louie rode him all over this year and he camped with us too. He's a bit worried and anxious, but did great all year with Louie who is of course very confident. Someone who wants to take the time to build a relationship with him should get him to mellow right out.
Kiss N Biz- big good looking filly that came to us this spring needing turnout and downtime due to the stress of racing. No known injuries but she has been out to pasture all summer and still has those thin thoroughbred feet. I will probably throw front shoes on her if I bring her in and start working her again. She is track broke and I thought about keeping her to race, but she's had her time and would have a better life in a non racing home.
Weanling filly- Smooth as S***t x FQHR Storms McQueen. Super cute and gentle little weanling filly. She was born this spring and has been at my farm until weaning and now she's learning how to be an independent girl. Louie spent a ton of time with her and I had every intention of buying her for him if she was still here by this time but now that he is gone, I don't have the means to do that. Hopefully we can find a good home for her where she will have a future in ranch work or some kind of cow work. She is on consignment.

I have one more thoroughbred that I will eventually be looking to rehome as a family horse. She's a gentle filly who had a seismoid fracture and is currently doing stall rest. She's very sweet and gentle to handle even though she has been laid up. I think she will make a nice trail horse and she's not super tall either.

I want to thank everyone who has been so kind thoughtful and patient with me as I have been dealing with Louie's passing.

It is very sad but I will have to step back from training a little bit this coming and fall and winter, as Louie was our main trainer and I would just assist. Thank you to everyone who has trusted horses with us this year, it was definitely a pleasure seeing you all reach your goals.

We still have spots open for boarding, and we are all seasons equestrians around here. Lots to do to keep active through the winter months.
