Good morning everyone,
Please take a few moments to read this message in its entirety, as it contains important information regarding the future of Barkin Bandit.
It is with a heavy heart that I share this news. After much thought, reflection, and many attempts to make things work, I have made the difficult decision to transition the shop to part-time hours beginning March 27, 2026. Moving forward, Barkin Bandit will be open on Wednesdays and Thursdays only. This change marks the beginning of the shop gradually coming to a close.
I understand this may come as a surprise to many of you, and please know that this decision has not been made lightly. Serving you and your pets has meant more to me than I can express. However, I must prioritize my health at this time.
As many of you know, I have struggled with back issues for years due to sports injuries from high school. While these challenges have come and gone over time, they have progressively worsened throughout my grooming career. After many workdays, I experience significant pain that makes it difficult to walk. Recently, the pain has begun affecting my neck as well, leading to severe headaches that cause dizziness, nausea, and lightheadedness. Following an episode at the shop this past week that forced me to end a grooming session early, it became clear that I can no longer continue operating at full capacity with such uncertainty surrounding my health.
It is not fair to you as my valued clients—or to myself—to continue under these circumstances. Grooming is physically demanding work, and while I love what I do, I must listen to what my body is telling me.
I am deeply grateful to those of you who have shown patience, understanding, and kindness during my more difficult days. Your support has meant everything.
If you have an appointment scheduled after March 27, 2026, please reach out so we can discuss arrangements. If you choose to transition your pet to another groomer, I completely understand and kindly ask that you let me know in advance so I can adjust the schedule accordingly. I recognize that availability in our area can be limited, and I will gladly provide recommendations to help ensure your pets continue receiving the care they deserve. I will also be reaching out individually to clients with upcoming appointments to ensure everyone is informed of these changes.
At this time, I do not have a final closing date to share, but I promise to keep you updated as decisions are made.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for trusting me with your beloved pets and for being part of the Barkin Bandit family. It has truly been an honor. ❤️
