I wanted to give everyone a little update because I know so many of you have been patiently waiting for me to get back to work.

First, I just want to say thank you. Truly. The amount of kindness, patience, love and understanding you have all shown me over the last few weeks has meant more than I can put into words. So many of you have checked on me, told me not to worry about your appointments, and reminded me to take care of myself first. I know I say you’re my clients, but after taking care of your dogs and knowing so many of you for years, you really have become my friends and family. I feel incredibly lucky to have the people I do in my life.

I’m starting to slowly make my way back to work. I’m currently about two weeks behind, and I’m working through everyone as quickly as I reasonably can while trying not to overwhelm myself. I’ll continue reaching out individually to get everyone rescheduled.

I wish I could say I’m ready to get back to normal, but the truth is that I’m really struggling with that part.

My sister was such a huge part of my everyday life. She was woven into my normal routines in ways I don’t think I even fully realized until she wasn’t here anymore. Getting back into those routines means constantly running into the places where she used to be, and that’s been incredibly hard.

I think part of me has been avoiding going back to normal because I don’t know how to be part of a world that she isn’t in anymore. Going back to work and continuing on with my life feels like I’m being asked to accept something that I’m still not ready to accept.

But I’m trying.

I’m going to start slowly, give myself some grace when I need it, and hopefully find my way back a little at a time. There will probably be good days and really sh*tty days for a while. Expect tears when I see you because it’s probably going to happen.

Thank you for giving me the space to do that. Thank you for loving me, checking on me, being patient with me, and trusting me with your babies all these years. And thank you for making something I was honestly dreading—coming back to work—feel a little less scary.

I love and appreciate you guys more than you know. ❤️

To all of my wonderful clients,

I wanted to let everyone know what has been happening and why my schedule has changed.

A couple weeks ago, I lost my sister, Bailey. She wasn’t just my sister—she was one of the most important people in my life and someone I loved more than I can put into words. Losing her has been the hardest thing I have ever experienced, and the grief has affected me in ways I never could have imagined.

I’ve always tried my best to be there for all of you and your pets, but right now I’m learning that grief isn’t something you can simply push through. I need to give myself the time and grace to heal so that I can come back and give your dogs the care and attention they deserve.

Because of that, I will need to push everyone’s appointments back by approximately two weeks while I slowly work my way back up to my normal schedule. I know this may be an inconvenience, and I’m truly sorry.

If your dog is overdue and you feel they need to be groomed sooner, I completely understand if you choose to take them somewhere else this time. Please don’t feel obligated to wait for me if it’s what’s best for your pet. Their comfort and well-being will always come first. I am reaching out to a couple groomers I trust to see if they could help out and if they are able I will send you their information.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out with kind words, understanding, and support. It has meant more than I can express during one of the most difficult times of my life.

I’m looking forward to seeing all of you—and giving your pups lots of love—as I find my footing again. Thank you for your patience, your understanding, and for allowing me the time I need to heal.

With love and gratitude,

Jessica

Hi everyone,

I wanted to give you all an update on why I’ve been quiet and why appointments may be delayed.

Over the past week, I experienced an unexpected and heartbreaking personal loss. My sister, Bailey, passed away suddenly, and I’ve been taking time to grieve and take care of myself.

To make matters even more complicated, I also came down with COVID. Before I can safely return to grooming, I need to recover and be cleared from that as well.

I truly appreciate everyone’s patience, kindness, and understanding during this incredibly difficult time. If you have an upcoming appointment, I’ll be reaching out as soon as I’m able to get everyone rescheduled.

Thank you all for your support. It means more than you know, and I look forward to seeing you and your pups again as soon as it’s safe for me to return. ❤️

Last update on me and scheduling information.

Over the last couple of months I’ve been dealing with some medical stuff that’s been making it very hard for me to work consistently. I didn’t realize what was really going on and thought it was just perimenopause, but it turns out I have hypothyroidism and allergy‑induced asthma. Which honestly explains a lot, and with that on top of perimenopause it’s been awful trying to function normally. The absolute fatigue and brain fog have been the worst, and it’s why I’ve not been on top of things as much as I usually am.

The good news is that it’s treatable and I have a dr appointment scheduled this week to go over the meds I’ll need. From what I’ve been reading it won’t be an immediate fix, it’ll take time to get leveled out again.

So with that in mind I’m going to adjust my schedule to work within this fatigue that I’m dealing with. I’m usually pretty good from 8/9am-2pm, after that I just need to nap. So my plan is to go back to working 5 days a week to accommodate having to stop work earlier in the day. Once everything levels out I may change things back but for now I think this is the best way to stay doing what I love without having to keep rescheduling people due to my ailments.

I’ll start reaching out to everyone today to get appointments moved into this new schedule.

I also want to take a minute to tell everyone how much I appreciate you. All of the check-ins, understanding, and general support have made all of this so much easier on me mentally. I feel incredibly grateful to have you in my life and genuinely lucky to work with such amazing people. Thank you so much for being who you are ❤️❤️

Quick update: I went back to the doctor about my breathing/cough and they want me to take a few more days fully away from grooming so the inhaler and meds can do their job before I’m back in all the dog hair. I’m going to keep the rest of this week blocked off and start back up next week. I know reschedules are a pain and I really appreciate your flexibility while I get my lungs calmed down 🙏 I’ll reach out with new time options shortly ❤️❤️

Hi friends! Quick grooming update: I’m going to be off this week on doctor’s orders. I’ve been dealing with some pretty nasty allergy/respiratory issues and my throat and lungs are officially ‘pissed off’ enough that I was told I need a short break from pet hair and dander so it doesn’t turn into something more serious. I’ll be rescheduling everyone out by about a week—hopefully that will be enough time for things to calm down and heal so I can get back to making your pups fluffy and fabulous. Thank you all so much for your patience and for being so kind and flexible while I get this sorted. ❤️
