Tabitha Farm Urban Homestead & Nursery A 2 acre food forest, family farm, and greenhouse situated on the south side of downtown Kalamazoo.

Located on 2 acres of land on the South side of downtown Kalamazoo, Tabitha Farm & Community Garden supports a Community Garden open to anyone in the neighborhood, a fruit orchard, egg laying chickens, and ducks, a huge compost operation to feed and mend the city dirt it lives on, a play area and basketbell court for neighborhood kids, and lots of greens space.

We have 2 Osage Orange! This tree is not a native, but is prized for it's beautiful natural orange wood. Osage orange was brought to the Midwest to grow as hedge rows to keep live stock in their paddocks. Osage orange has long spikes that make a barrier for property. A natures "barbed wire fence" . Osage Oranges fruit is a beautiful ornamental for your home that deters pests.

Choke Cherry. When I worked on thr Yankton Sioux Indian Reservation back in 1997, there was choke cherry jam available in all the resturants and cafes on the Res. Choke Cherry is very important to indigenous cuisine. I ha e several trees available. They are 3 years old now amd are close to 4 feet yall.
