Copied from another groomer
I know there are groomers that push and rush through for that quick $
But know there are also dogs that simply dont cooperate neither and when we educate you, in a stern voice we arent doing it to be mean, we're doing it because we most likely told you before or you think its ok and funny that your dog does these things
Being fearful of the salon is normal
But routine is key
Dogs shaking can be nerves, excitement or a underlining health condition
Dogs that cant walk in a leash is from poor training
Dogs who zigzag and drag you is from poor training
Dogs who p*e and p**p in crates is from poor training
Its hard to take care of your pet. Get them done in a timely manner and have to seem like the more disciplined person because we dont like being yanked around, bit or have to re clean a already cleaned dog.
So yes it is important to train your pet fully and get them introduced early so this doesn't happen
Even with rescues
All dogs can learn new tricks
🚨 YOUR DOG ISN’T “BAD.” BUT IGNORING WHAT YOUR GROOMER IS TELLING YOU IS.
Everyone wants to hear “Your dog was perfect!”🧚🏻♀️
But not every dog is perfect for everything.🧜🏼
👉🏼Dogs are living, breathing animals. They have fears, anxiety, triggers and limits. Plenty of dogs genuinely LOVE grooming, and many dogs that struggle can improve tremendously once the right routine, handling and frequency are figured out.
But that takes groomer AND owner.☝🏼
👉🏼A dog doesn’t have to be aggressive to be physically difficult to groom. A severely anxious dog that pancakes their entire body weight, fights drying or constantly resists handling can put tremendous strain on a groomer’s hands, arms, shoulders and back.
👉🏼When a groomer repeatedly tells you your dog is struggling, they’re not insulting your dog. They’re giving you information you need to hear.
👉🏼Laughing it off, ignoring recommendations, showing up three times a year expecting things to magically improve tells your groomer something too.
👉🏼And hopping from groomer to groomer because you don’t like the feedback doesn’t change the behavior. It only changes who has to deal with it next.
👉🏼At some point, if multiple professionals are telling you the same thing, the groomer isn’t the problem.
Your groomer can work with your dog.🐾
But they can’t do the owner’s part too.👈🏼
