Do you sometimes think about your heart rat(s) who passed away a long time ago? Yeah… me too. Oslo and Branch are on my mind every few months.
Some tid bits:
Oslo - While I was away for work travel, my husband had to take care of the rats. He woke up in the night to Oslo tugging on him, and in his words it was like Oslo was saying “uhh… you forgot something”. Turns out my husband didn’t quite latch the cage door as he thought.
Oslo loved to be around me. So much that when I offered my hand, he would go to my face instead (video in the comments). I’d lay on the ground on my back and he would climb all over me. He was also the first one to “mark” my phone 😑 but I’d let him do it again if he were here today ❤️
Branch - a few months after his passing, I remember vividly being at meijer near the fruit. I was talking to my husband about my rats, and instead of calling the name of the rat I was talking about, I instead said “yeah Branch…” I trailed off. I felt like crying and I was on the inside. He comforted me, and to be completely vulnerable with you - I’m crying as I write this.
He also played “unalived” a lot as a youngster just from his deep sleeping habits!
Branch&Oslo. They both have a spot on the heart shaped paw I hand made and put all of our cat’s names on. They have angel wings next to them. They’ll always be my forever 💞
Who is/was your heart rat(s)? Tell me their story in the comments ❤️
