☀️ Too hot for you? It’s hot for them too!! Beat the Heat: Recognizing Heatstroke in Hawaii’s Pets 🐾
With our year-round island sun and high humidity, heatstroke can happen fast—watch for heavy panting, bright red gums, excessive drooling, or sudden weakness and unsteadiness. If you suspect your pet is overheating, move them to shade immediately, apply cool (never ice) water to their belly and paws, and get to a vet right away.
Prevent emergencies by walking during cooler morning or evening hours and never leaving pets in a parked car. Save and share this post to keep our island pets safe! 🌺🐕🐈
