Room 8 Memorial Cat Foundation We are a non-profit no kill animal shelter for cats in Riverside, CA In 1972, Room 8 Memorial Cat Foundation was founded by Hettie L. Perry (1905-1996).

Hettie -- affectionately known as The Cat Lady of Pasadena -- and her very patient husband, fed, nursed, groomed and cared for cats in their private home. Hettie's life was filled with love for helping unwanted homeless cats. Hettie named Room 8 Memorial Cat Foundation after a cat named "Room 8" that she had read about who was the mascot at a Los Angeles county elementary school for 16 years. The

current shelter in Jurupa Valley, California was built by Hettie in the mid-1980’s and continues her vision of taking in, caring for, and providing and finding cats of all ages a place to feel loved and safe. Our no-cage environment provides a safe and caring home for approximately 85 cats awaiting adoption, as well as lifetime care for those who cannot be placed, including senior cats who will live out their lives in a comfortable setting. Our cattery is divided into eight separate rooms and each room has an attached outdoor, enclosed patio area where the cats can get fresh air and lounge in the sun on benches and other furniture. We are open by appointment only. Adoption procedures include completing an application and, if approved, paying an adoption fee for each cat or kitten.

Dear friends, it is once again that time of year. (Does it really ever end….it does a little.) Kitten season! And as cute as it sounds it isn’t….with the huge amount of kittens needing intake. We’ve tried to be careful and only take what is reasonable, but there’s always more to help. And we know that Gail has a big heart. So if you could help us keep these littles in food we’d certainly appreciate it. I’ve included our Amazon wishlist that ships to Gail at the cattery, but friskies or moist food from anyone would be great! Food is preferred, but if sending a donation is more convenient that’s great as well. Thank you, for your support! ❤️🐱
