Meet Blink 🐾

This is Blink, a 1-year-old boy who recently participated in Dog Day Out. He got to go to the park and visit Petco. Two words that describe him: energetic and friendly.
Blink is social and fun, and he enjoyed meeting new friends on his walk. He loves to hike, run, and play with toys, and he's always up for a ride in the car or a trip out on the town.

Blink is ready for his new home, and that could be you.

Readers of all skill levels are invited to participate in our Pawsitive Readers Program every Wednesday from 3:30-4:30pm. Read your favorite book to shelter pets to help them socialize and provide meaningful enrichment. No appointment required.

From shelter dog to soon-to-be big sister. ❤️

Nova’s family recently sent us an update, and we loved hearing how well she’s doing in her home.

A DNA test revealed Nova is 70% Belgian Malinois, 20% German Shepherd and 10% a mix of other breeds. Her family describes her as smart, funny and a wonderful addition to their family.

She loves people, gets along well with other dogs , and keeps her family on their toes. Sometimes her boredom leads to a little destruction, but life with Nova is never boring. 🐾

Now, Nova is preparing for her biggest role yet: becoming a big sister! 🐕‍

Happy tails, Nova! We love seeing our former shelter pets thriving with their families.

This handsome 2-year-old boy had a blast on his Dog Day Out field trip! 🎉

Cusco is one of our long-stay dogs who got to leave the shelter for a while and explore the great outdoors. He was described as very calm and friendly, loves car rides, and is an expert on the leash! 🐶💕

He is ready to meet you today!

Lost. Injured. Still waiting for someone who knows her. ❤️‍🩹
Arabella, A1934184, came to our Riverside shelter as a stray on August 26 after she was found on La Sierra Avenue. She arrived with serious injuries, including a fractured front leg, multiple broken teeth and an injury to her lower lip. She can't tell us how she was injured, but she greets our staff with hopeful eyes each day.
Despite everything she has been through, 9-month-old Arabella has shown nothing but sweetness. She is gentle, well-mannered, walks nicely on leash, even with her splint, and stays close to her handler asking for pets.
We don’t know where Arabella came from or whether someone is searching for her.
Stories like hers are common in our shelters. Sick and injured animals arrive in our care every day. Some are lost pets. Some need extensive medical treatment. All need somewhere safe to heal while we work toward their next step.

🐾 Meet Shelly! 🐾
Shelly recently traded shelter life for a day out, and this sweet 2-year-old made the most of every minute.
As one of our long-stay dogs, Shelly enjoyed a break from the shelter with plenty of walks, fresh air and, of course, belly rubs. Her Dog Day Out buddy described her as easygoing and a great companion.
Now Shelly is ready for her next outing to be a one-way trip home. 🏡
Shelly’s adoption fee is waived. Her adoption includes:
