Dodge County Humane Society We are a 501(c)(3) not for profit shelter that services the Dodge County area. We operate under DATCP Dog Facility Operator License Number 267299.

�We do not have online applications. All applications have to be completed in person at the time of meeting.

�We do not require appointments to view the animal you're interested in. We however do not have open viewing of our dogs; so we do ask that you know who you would like to meet with.

�Our application process is not first come first serve. We base our decisions on what we feel would be th

e right fit home for the animal. Not all adoptions are same day. It depends on the status of the animal you're interested in and if management is available.

�We schedule all of our cat and dog surrenders for certain days and times of the week. If this is something you have to do please give us a call for further pricing and scheduling information.

Teddy is learning what its like to simply be loved ❤️

Teddy is an Australian Shepherd mix who spent his previous life outdoors on a farm. Home life, close human companionship, and all the little comforts that come with being someone’s beloved dog are still pretty new to him.

And Teddy is trying.

He enjoys being petted and spending time near people, but he’s not a snuggler. He’s a herding breed through and through, with the independence and tendencies that can come along with it.

What he needs most is someone who understands that six years of one lifestyle won’t disappear in six days.

• 6-year-old Australian Shepherd mix
• Previously lived an outdoor farm lifestyle
• Not house trained and will need help learning
• Enjoys pets, but isn’t a cuddly dog
• Has typical herding-breed tendencies
• Still learning to enjoy human companionship
• Will need patience, routine & time to decompress
• Dog Meeting suggested

There may be an adjustment period. There will be things Teddy has never experienced before. And his relationship with his adopter may be something that develops slowly rather than instantly.

But there’s something pretty special about getting to be the person who shows a dog like Teddy that home can mean warmth, safety, patience and people who aren't going anywhere. ❤️

Stitch takes being a single father seriously.. 🧸❤️

Walk past Stitch’s bed and there’s a good chance you’ll find him surrounded by his little family.

Stitch LOVES his toys. He collects his favorites, carefully brings them back to his bed, and piles them around himself so everyone can cuddle together. 😂

We’re not saying he has a favorite child.
But we’re also not saying he doesn’t.

Bart is just a little boy ready for his big day 🥹

Bart was found all alone, and this handsome little black cat is still figuring out his new surroundings. He’s playful and curious, although he can be cautious at first. He’s also shown curiosity toward both cats and dogs at DCHS—which could make him a great candidate for a home with furry classmates after proper introductions.

And can we please discuss that round little face and those big orange eyes?!

Rocky!🐾

Rocky is an 8 year old senior pittie looking to begin a new chapter. This super friendly, social boy has lived with kids from newborn age on up, and already has plenty of experience being someone’s dog. His biggest requirement? Rocky needs to be your one and only pet.

~ 8-year-old neutered Pit/Lab mix
~ House trained & crate trained
~ No cats & needs to be the only dog
~ Has lived with children, including a newborn
~ Knows sit, down, stay & shake and is very treat motivated
~ Good in the car & enjoys walks—but he is a strong puller
~ Loves to swim & get butt scratches

At 6 years old, Stitch already knows what it means to be someone’s dog—and he’d really like to have that life again.

He’s perfectly house trained, loves hopping in the car, enjoys his walks, will happily play a little fetch, and knows there are few things better than stretching out in a warm patch of sunshine.

Stitch does need to be your one and only pet, but he has plenty of love and companionship to fill that role all by himself.
