Tomorrow, millions of Americans will gather with family, cook food, wave flags, enjoy freedom, and carry on with another weekend in America.
But for many families, Memorial Day is not a celebration.
It is the photograph they still cannot put away.
The folded flag sitting quietly in a living room.
The military headstone visited year after year.
The empty chair at the table that never stopped hurting.
The voicemail they still cannot delete.
The son, daughter, husband, wife, father, mother, or friend who left to serve this country…
and never made it home again.
Freedom has always come at a price.
Every freedom we enjoy today was protected by men and women willing to stand in harm’s way for something greater than themselves. Many of them were young. Many had dreams, families, futures, and plans that ended in service to this nation.
Memorial Day is not about politics.
It is not about division.
It is not about social media arguments.
It is about remembering the Americans who gave everything so this country could continue forward.
So while you enjoy your family this weekend, take a moment to pause.
Teach your children what Memorial Day truly means.
Say their names.
Honor their sacrifice.
Remember the cost.
Because for thousands of American families…
Memorial Day never ended.
🇺🇸 Honor Them. Remember Them. Never Forget. 🇺🇸
