It's May! This means that registration for ECX 2027 is open!

NEW RACE
In addition to the 100-mile, 8-dog and 31-mile, 6-dog events, we are excited to introduce our new 17-mile, 6 dog course! This shorter race format is perfect for smaller kennels, those not keen on long distance runs, teams working their way up to 100-mile events, and everything in-between. It also allows for participation by teams unable to train longer distances due to a lack of snow or those without access to longer trails for training and conditioning. We look forward to more community involvement and the ability to provide a safe, organized setting for your team's next adventure!

Race rules, including veterinary requirements, are available for review on the website.

2026 ENTRY ROLLOVER
Mushers wanting to rollover their 2026 race entry are to register through the website. The firm cutoff date for using a rollover entry is SEPTEMBER 1.

Mushers with 2026 entries will receive an email with this information from our Musher Coordinator, Gary. Please reach out via Messenger or send the race a message via the website if you have questions. Spread the word!

Massive congratulations to Josi Shelley and There & Back Again Sleddogs for an impressive 1st place finish in the Yukon Quest Alaska 750-mile race! The team persevered through blown in trail and a trail reroute due to a winter storm to finish 100 miles ahead of 2nd place.

On Saturday, March 2, 2026, a number of ECX veteran mushers will set off on an adventure from Anchorage to Nome, Alaska as they take on the 1000+ mile Iditarod:
- Josi Shelley
- Gabe Dunham
- Jessie Royer

Additionally, our very own Head Veterinarian, Dr. Kimberly McCreedy, will be in Anchorage caring for two Iditarod team's returned dogs as they come off the trail: Michelle Phillips of Tagish Lake Kennel and Richie Beattie of Wildthingz Dog Mushing.
