STARLIGHT ESCALADE and Melissa Wigen finished up their show at the Best Little Derby in The West in the TKO $15,000 added Non Pro with a 216 finishing up 8th place.

Not only did the pair win the L2, L3, L4 Non Pro Maturity but they also were the High Point Non Pro champions. Congratulations Melissa and Rascal, we had a great time cheering you guys on this past week and witnessing your success!💜🌟

WALLA IN A MILLION and Melissa Wigen had a few solid runs at the Best Little Derby in The West. This mare has had very limited time in the show pen with this being her second horse show. She looked great!

Rose and Melissa placed top ten in the Novice Horse Non Pro Derby picking up a nice check to begin Rose’s show record. It has been so much fun seeing her get more comfortable and confident in the show pen. We are very excited for owner, Gina Wigen, to get to show this talented mare in the future and can’t wait until her next horse show.

We are officially home from The Best Little Derby in The West! The horses are all tucked in and situated back in the barn. We are grateful for the show week that we had and eager for me to start recovering from my accident. We have had such great help at the barn and we are lucky that we are able to trust our workers to give the horses the best care that they could possibly get.

Huge thank you to Trent and Greg Bales for making the trip to Nampa in order to drive the semi truck and trailer home for me. Thank you Greg for flying Trent over, and thank you Trent for driving the rig home. We are surrounded by such great friends and community and we are thankful for all of the help to get the horses home safely. 💜🙌🏔️

RUF WALLOWA WHIZ and Marissa Fisher finished strong this week at The Best Little Derby in The West.

They ended up top 5 for the circuit in the Youth 13 & Under against some tough competition. Romer and Marissa have come together so much in and out of the show pen since Romer became a part of the Fisher family in 2024. We are so proud of both of them and their success in Nampa this week.

Thank you Fishers for trusting my program, I have truly enjoyed working with this pair and I am excited for this next chapter we are entering.

Open Derby draw for today!

While I am not quite back in the saddle yet from my accident earlier this week, the horses from Travis Wigen Performance Horses are still headed to the Open Derby pen at the Best Little Derby in The West — thanks to two great friends of mine. We’re incredibly grateful to Ryan Rushing and Cory Hutchings for stepping in and doing us a huge favor by showing these talented horses.

These horses have been a big part of our program, and we couldn’t appreciate Cory and Ryan more for their willingness to help out and represent them in the show pen today.

I thankfully will be off of my feet for a limited amount of time and I am healing up, looking forward to being back in the saddle soon. Until then, we’re thankful to be surrounded by such an amazing community.

Kendall and Pecos have been working hard to get to know each other better and become a team. It has definitely paid off, they are fitting in with each other very well. It was so much fun to get to cheer them on with their success yesterday in the Limited and Intermediate Non Pro. Great job!🏆💜
