Today is all about celebrating the woman who wears two very important hats at our clinic — veterinarian AND owner! 🩺

Running a veterinary clinic is no small job, and we know how much time, hard work, and dedication go into caring for our patients while keeping everything running behind the scenes. As her staff, we see firsthand just how much she puts into this clinic, and we’re thankful to be part of the team she has built.

Thank you, Dr. Chelsee, for all you do for our patients, their families, and each of us on your team. We appreciate your hard work, your passion for veterinary medicine, and everything you do to make our clinic a special place! 🐾

Those extra treats may come from love… but too much weight can take a toll on our pets’ health! ❤️🐶🐱

Pet obesity can increase the risk of:
⚠️ Joint & mobility problems
⚠️ Diabetes
⚠️ Heart & respiratory issues
⚠️ Decreased quality of life
⚠️ Shorter lifespan

The good news? Small changes can make a BIG difference! 🥰

🥕 Measure meals instead of free-feeding
🦴 Keep treats to a healthy portion of their daily calories
🏃‍♀️ Encourage regular exercise & play
⚖️ Keep track of their weight
🩺 Ask your veterinarian what a healthy weight looks like for your pet

🍎🥕 Still want to spoil your pet without adding too many extra calories? Fruits and veggies can be a great alternative to traditional treats! Depending on your pet, options like carrots, green beans, cucumber, blueberries, or small pieces of apple can make a tasty reward without packing in as many calories.

Just remember—not every fruit or vegetable is safe for every pet, and treats of any kind should still be given in moderation. When in doubt, ask our veterinary team which options are safe for your furry friend! 🐾

And remember, every pet is different! A healthy weight isn’t just about the number on the scale. We can help create a safe, personalized weight-management plan for your pet. 💚

Valley View Vet is looking for a Mixed Animal Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join our team!

Experience preferred

🕒 25–30 hours per week (tentatively)

Schedule:

Monday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Thursday: 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM

What We're Looking For:

Excellent customer service skills
Ability to multitask in a busy environment
A strong team player
A positive attitude and willingness to learn

🐾 Tubby has something to say… and you better listen! 🐾

“Excuse me, hooman… did you schedule my annual bloodwork yet?” 🩸👀

Yes, even if your pet is acting like they’re 100% healthy, have never done anything wrong, and definitely aren’t hiding anything from you… annual bloodwork is still important! 😂

Routine bloodwork helps us:
🩸 Make sure everything is working the way it should
🔍 Catch changes that may not be obvious yet
📋 Establish a baseline of what’s normal for your pet
🐾 Give us something to compare to if your pet gets sick down the road

Think of it as getting a “before” picture of your pet’s health. That way, if something changes later, we have their previous results to compare it to!

So remember: Annual exam ✔️ Vaccines ✔️ Bloodwork ✔️ Treats for Tubby ✔️

Tubby says the last one is non-negotiable. 😼😂🩸

🐑💙 One fair may have wrapped up, but Dr. Chelsee’s support for our 4-H families certainly didn’t!

Her love for agriculture and the 4-H community runs deep, and this year she continued showing her support well beyond the Fayette County Fair. She made her way to both the Westmoreland County Fair and Somerset County Fair to support even more hardworking exhibitors and their families.

At the Westmoreland County Fair, Dr. Chelsee purchased 9 animals:

🐑 Lambs
• The Raishart Family
• The Pribisco Family
• The Muellerleile Family
• The Schade Family

🐐 Goat
• The Tinkey Family

🐖 Pigs
• The Trout Family
• The Raishart Family

🦃 Turkey
• The Temple Family

🐔 She also purchased a pen of chickens!

On top of her animal purchases, Dr. Chelsee donated to Feeding America and the Westmoreland County Scholarship Fund. 💙

And she kept the support going at the Somerset County Fair, purchasing:

🐐 Goat — The Clark Family
🐑 Lamb — The Cornett Family

She also Donated to the Seth Landis Scholarship Fund, Zach Glessners Memorial Breakfast, and supported the Somerset Baked Goods Sale! 🍪🧁

Having grown up in 4-H and FFA, Dr. Chelsee knows exactly how much work goes into these projects. The long days, early mornings, countless hours of preparation, and dedication from both the exhibitors and their families are something she has experienced herself.

For her, showing up for these kids means more than simply purchasing an animal. It’s about recognizing their hard work, investing in their future, and giving back to the agricultural communities that helped shape who she is today. ❤️

We are incredibly proud to see Dr. Chelsee continuing to support 4-Hers, their families, and our local agricultural communities wherever she can! 🐄🐖🐑🐐🐔💙
