This National Veterinary Technician Week, we're celebrating the incredible Associates who make our hospitals thrive — like Karen, who began as a CSR and never stopped growing and like Joanne, who sought mentorship and support to obtain her VTNE.

At VCA, we're proud to champion our veterinary technicians every step of the way — offering mentorship, encouragement, and the resources to help you reach your full potential.

To every vet tech in our VCA family: thank you. What you do matters deeply — to our teams, to our patients, and to the pet owners who trust us with their most beloved companions.

Every surgery starts long before the first incision. It starts with a veterinary technician who has spent years mastering their skills, anticipating needs, monitoring vitals, and showing up fully prepared for every patient who comes through the door.

Vet techs are the heart of every OR team, and their skill and dedication make a difference every single day. At some VCA specialty hospitals, we take surgical collaboration even further. Some of our teams include Certified Surgical Technologists (CSTs) — professionals who earned specialized degrees specifically to support surgeons in the OR.

The result? Less time under anesthesia. Better outcomes. And a team that truly works as one. 💙

Because every patient is somebody's pet — and they deserve nothing less than the best.

Turn pill time into treat time!

What is even better about Royal Canin Pill Assists? They work with most prescription diets AND are low calorie! They also consist of vitamins and prebiotic fiber to help with the digestive system while taking medication.

These pill assists are soft and are simple to mold around any pill, masking the scent of the pill! With these being low calorie, you can even offer as a treat or use while training - they do pull apart easily!

Stop in to grab a bag!

Have an itchy pet? Maybe some red skin?

Douxo has some great products, one of which is Douxo Calm shampoo and mousse! VCA Joliet even gets to offer our clients a special deal... If you buy TWO Douxo products here at the clinic, you can get a FREE Douxo product (that saves you anywhere around $35!). Even better, there is no limit on this deal!

DouxoS3 Calm is great for any red, itchy, or inflamed skin with no infection. This is safe for puppies and kittens! Perhaps any pets using Cytopoint or Apoquel could benefit from the extra skin barrier support. The Calm shampoo and mousse work to prevent the itch to scratch to infection cycle. These products will also repair and moisturize the skin to prevent allergens from penetrating.

If you have any questions or are interested in any of these products, feel free to stop in or give us a call at (815)729-0770!

Bring us your pet's p**p!

Puppies, kittens, dog and cats are all susceptible to intestinal parasites whether they are mainly outdoors OR indoors. Parasites can even affect humans...yuck! Intestinal parasites are only occasionally life-threatening, but they do often cause problems. Fun fact: On rare occasions, roundworms can travel to an animal or humans eyeball!

For Will County alone, 1 in every 15 dogs test positive for a parasite! Companion Animal Parasite Council recommends twice yearly f***l testing. This council consists of both practicing companion animal veterinary professionals and research/academic parasitologists.

If you have been seen at our location within the year, you may drop off a fresh f***l sample anytime during open hours! If you have not been seen by our location before, call to schedule an appointment today and bring a sample to that appointment!

Give us a call at (815)729-0770 💩

Read our intestinal parasite articles on the VCA website or visit Companion Animal Parasite Council website to learn more about parasites!
