Introducing Lost & Found, two male Guinea Pigs with quite the story to tell! One afternoon, a staff member walked out to his truck and spotted a large, brown furry potato hiding near one of his tires. Thankfully, he was able to safely catch the little guy and bring him inside. Of course, we immediately wondered if there could be another Guinea Pig nearby. Our team searched the surrounding field and parking lot, hoping to find a companion, but unfortunately had no luck. We crossed our fingers and hoped that this sweet boy had been the only one left outside. Sadly, two days later, another staff member spotted a second furry potato—this time black and white—huddled in the tall grass near the soccer field. She radioed for help while walking a large dog, and our team was able to safely bring him inside as well. This little guy was lethargic, dehydrated, and overheated from being outside during the high heat index. He was immediately brought inside, closely monitored, and thankfully recovered quickly after his difficult nights spent trying to survive outdoors. Please do not dump your animals. It is incredibly unsafe, and they deserve so much better. Domestic animals are not equipped to survive on their own and can quickly become dehydrated, injured, sick, or worse. Now, it’s time to officially introduce the boys! Meet Lost & Found, two very large potatoes—we mean, Guinea Pigs—who are now available for adoption and ready to find their forever families! While they were found in the same area, they do not appear to get along well together, so we are looking for separate homes for each of them. Both boys love fresh veggies and will “wheek” with excitement when they see us in the morning! They eagerly zoom around their kennel, patiently waiting for their favorite snacks and vegetables. Guinea Pigs can make wonderful companions, but they require proper care, attention, regular cleaning, a balanced diet, and necessary vitamins. Please make sure you are prepared for the commitment before bringing one into your family. Lost & Found have survived quite the adventure. Now, they’re ready to find safe, loving homes where they will never have to fend for themselves again. Their adoption fee is $25 each, and does not come with cage or supplies. Please bring a carrier if applying to adopt or a cardboard carrier can be bought at JTAC for an additional $5. Located in Joliet, IL

ADOPTED!!

Meet Toffee, a sweet female rabbit who is ready to find her forever home! Toffee arrived at our facility as a stray after being brought in by a kind citizen. Once her stray hold was complete, she visited our friends at Just Animals Vet Clinic, where she was spayed. Toffee is now fully healed and ready for her next adventure! She absolutely loves being held and enjoys gentle pets. And when she sees her veggies coming, she gets so excited and happily munches away at her bowl! Toffee is ready to hop into a loving forever home where she can be spoiled and adored. Just a friendly reminder that rabbits require care just like a dog or cat. They need love and attention to be well socialized. They need high quality food and hay, chew toys, fresh water. They can live to be up to 10 years old. They can only eat certain “treats” and they need to be neutered and spayed just like dogs. They aren’t an easy pet, but they are awesome and smart if you can devote time and effort to them. Please do your research. Her adoption fee is $125, which includes her spay. She does not come with any supplies.
